Consequences of Climate Change - Coggle Diagram
Consequences of Climate Change
Melting Glaciers
Because of the huge glaciers melting, it causes the ocean levels to rise, flooding coastal regions and places and islands near the ocean
Warming air and ocean temperature causes severe coastal storms such as hurricanes and typhoons, affecting many.
As climate warms, glaciers and ice sheets melt swifter and more rapid than before
When glaciers melt and decrease in size, habitats of many animals get affected as the climate grows warmer.
Poverty & Displacement
When land gets destroyed and small businesses and work fails, a huge amount of people can get unemployed and have no money causing intense poverty.
With huge natural disasters driving individuals from their homes, it jeopardises the food and money sources, and may cause conflicts and extreme poverty and hunger.
As the severity of climate change persists, many people can loose their lifes in disasters such as flood, droughts, storms and more as well as get displaced, breaking contact with family and friends.
Impact on Food Production & Food Chains
When animals from a particular habitat go extinct, other species in the same one will get affected as it will cause disruptions to the original food chain. For instance, without a dominant specie in the food chain, the whole will collapse and will also affect humans, with lesser animals and overall shortage of food for both humans and animals.
Agricultural lands are put at risk of getting destroyed because of the extreme conditions. Overall food chains and production will soon become comparatively lesser.
Extreme climate conditions causes massive floods, droughts, storms and other natural disasters, affecting and threatening food production, and will eventually lead to severe food shortages.
Loss of Species
Because of natural disasters, habitats can get completely distroyed, taking the animals down as well. Many species are close to extinction and without a proper and natural habitat, they won't have much of a chance at survival.
Because of the change in climate it can lower many animals survival rate as it interferes with the enviornment and food chain.
Climate change affects many animals as the average climate steadily gets warmer. The lives of many species that live in cold climates are jeopardised as almost evverywhere is impacted by global warming.
Increased & Intense Natural Disasters
Some of the most impacted places are coastal regions (floods), desert places & close by (droughts) and others. Although climate change affects us all in every part of the world, some places are more affected than the others just behind.
The overall number of disasters has acutely increased, leaving many vulnerable and helpless, with many impacted people stranded and displaced.
With the warming climate and rising sea levels, the Earth is prone to drastically intense natural disasters and increased numbers of them. Droughts, floods, storms, hurricanes and tornadoes will be higher in number, affecting many.
