What is the Earth's Place in the Universe?
Conclusion
I didn't know how things were created, like the planets and the earth, But now I know a lot more and I under stand it in a deeper meaning. For example I never new how the oceans were created but now I know that Meteorites brought ice cristal things that melted and now we have oceans.
High school has a system and rules like space, though not every one follows them. And I am a small part of a much bigger thing.
I learned a lot this unit but my favorite part was probably when we learned about our solar system.
Big Bang
Claim: Everything started at a single point and rapidly expanded
Evidence: The universe is still expanding, there's already so much space but its still going. The light we see from other galaxies and stars is as old as it is far away. everything started from the same point, because it is still expanding we assume it all started at the same point.
When I graduated 8th grade that was the start of my high school journey.
Solar System
Claim: The solar system works in a beautiful precise way, any changes and things would be much different.
Evidence: Our solar system started when the sun was created from dust and star guts. Because of gravity the planets, including the earth, were made and put in specific places that balance our solar system. The earth had multiple stages. It was a ball of lava, then things cooled and then meteorites brought water and oceans formed And life came from there.
In High School there's a kind of balance. Teachers would be like the sun and the students are the planets. Students follow the teacher and usually do what they tell them to do.
Stars
Claim: Dust and gas come together to create a star.
Evidence: A stellar nebula condenses because of gravity and it creates a star. For a long time stars sit and don’t do much. Stars eventually die out because they run out of helium.
In High School there are so many different people, but they all go through the same sycle. They become a freshman and spend 4 years here. Then They graduate and leave to become part of something elts.
Introduction
Claim: The Earth is a small part of a big operation/system.
I will use high school as my connection. I chose it because its a big school and there's a lot of parts to it. When the school was built would be like the big bang and how things work in the class rooms could be like the solar systems.
