Are visual representations always helpful in the communication of knowledge? Discuss with reference to the human sciences and mathematics. ( Nur Batrisyia A21F )
visual representation
the direct or symbolic reflection of something in the format of photos, the images, memes, graphics to represent people, things, a place, or a situation.
The concept of “representation” captures the signs that stand in for and take the place of something else . Visual representation, in particular, refers to the special case when these signs are visual . On the other hand, there is no limit on what may be (visually) represented, which may range from abstract concepts to concrete objects in the real world or data items.
The needs of having a visual representation while communicating : Retaining information- Visual communication helps people retain information and creates a stronger connection as opposed to verbal communication. Images are remembered by the part of our brain that is responsible for long-term memory
why retaining the information is important :
Our brains learn better when we space out information. It's more effective than trying to retain mass amounts of information together. This allows time for the neural connection to solidify and prevents new information from taking the place of old information. Repetition is, therefore, important for learning.
why image can be remembered over the long period :
Some experts suggest that images are more likely to be remembered than words, because our brains dually encode images, but encode words only once. What does this mean? It means that when you see an image it is stored in your memory “in the form of a picture”, but also “in the form of a word”
The verbal communication :
As humans, the most used and relied upon form of communication is verbal. This form of communication is one of the most complex due to the large number of evolutionary processes needed for the physiological changes that allow for the range of sounds humans can create.
An image is a visual representation of something that depicts or records visual perception. For example, a picture is similar in appearance to some subject, which provides a depiction of a physical object or a person.
does a written language is the visual representation
Writing is a visual representation of speech and, quite recently, of sign language.
Logographics writing : Logographic (i.e., marked by a letter, symbol, or sign used to represent an entire word) is the term that best describes the nature of the Chinese writing system..
communication of knowledge
know-how (e.g., how to accomplish a task), know-why (e.g., the cause-effect relationships of a complex phenomenon), know-what (e.g., the results of a test), and know-who (e.g., the experiences with others) through face-to-face (co-located)
what the AOK about
why is that AOK being discuss
what is actually the AOK about
the deliberate activity of interactively conveying and co-constructing insights, assessments, experiences, or skills through verbal and non-verbal means.
Being able to communicate effectively is perhaps the most important of all life skills. It is what enables to pass information to other people, and to understand what is said to us.
how do we know that the communication is effective
why it is important life skills
How does visual representation can become helpful in the communication of knowledge
Visual communication is a way to communicate ideas graphically in ways that are efficient and help to convey more meaning
visuals can help to evoke emotions , provide stronger examples for the message
Diagrams are sense making representations of complex situations although their use in teaching and learning should bear some relation to use within related professional practice.

Types of visual communication include animated GIFs, screenshots, videos, pie charts, infographics, and slide deck presentations
The relevance of truth in to representation
what is the relevance of truth :
The Importance of Truth. Truth matters, as individuals and to society as a whole. As individuals, being truthful means that a person can grow and mature, learning from the mistakes. For society, truthfulness makes social bonds, and lying and hypocrisy break them.
Does representation is correlated to the truth
'Representation defines reality': it tells us what it is. But it does much more than that; it also makes and shapes our understanding of reality. We can know and access the world only through language, or representation.
how important is the representation in order to tell the truth
Mathematics is a subject that deals with abstract ideas in order to solve problems. Information can be represented with numbers, words, and other types of symbols. Representing information with symbols can be a difficult practice for students with learning disabilities to understand, and eventually begin to use themselves.
Information is often represented visually in mathematics as a method of organising, extending, or replacing other methods of presentation. Visual representation in mathematics involves creating and forming models that reflect mathematical information
