- - - - we learn that the hard outlines of what we see in daylight that make it easy for us to order daylight disappear. I So we begin to see its boundaries in a much more faded way. That fuzziness of twilight allows us to see the intersections of the event with a number of other things that daylight obscures for us, to use a paradox. We have to interpret more in twilight,
        
        in this text the concept of daylight refers to a clear and objective truth. Why is twilight implies a situation where truth can only be gleamed at and has unclear boundaries, this is in reference to the moral and narrative ambiguity of the LA riots.
      - Like an optimist to anger there is the acceptance of the ambiguity. That something can be both good and bad, this really gets into the concept of the toxic masculine qualities of anger discussed in the paper. But also the benefits that it might bring about the fact that there's not always a clear moral truth. However it can definitely be argued that twilight exists more in the ambiguity than happiness of anger
      - The name of this team was used to inspire the name of the entire play, I think this choice is derived by the fact that it kind of sums up the whole experience existing in this unclear malaise of uncertainty this twilight

I’m gonna have one of the . rooms and it’s just gonna be of all the riot stuff and it won’t be a blood-and-guts memorial, it’s not gonna be a sad, it’s gonna be a happy room. It’s gonna be . . .         it is interesting that the two characters that seem to be most negatively connected with both have a desire for some form of commemorates I'll be it for drastically different reasons
        
        despite his traumatic experience, he doesn't wanna focus on the more negative aspects of the event instead a desire to focus on the good things about it. The compassion and empathy people displayed towards him as opposed to the heat he experienced
        
        I like many of the white characters who write about anger we see this expression of the idea that anger should simply be let go of, which quite possibly speaks to a privilege not afforded to those of color who are quite often actively affected by events of the past.
      - Despite being directly involved in the events of the riot Reginald Denny doesn't seem to have incredibly strong emotions towards it. Paul Parker who wasn't directly involved is filled with strong emotions deep anger hate hope and fear. It is perhaps that as a white man Reginald Denny doesn't feel as impacted despite his attack
  - - - but you heard about the Reginald Denny beating, the Reginald Denny beating, the Reginald Denny beating. This one white boy paraded all around this nation to go do every talk show there is, get paid left and right. Oh, Reginald Denny, this innocent white man. But you didn t hear nothin’ about all these other victims until the day of the trial came. (mimicking dorky voice) ‘"Well, this is more than about Reginald Denny. This is about several people. Many people got beat up on the comer.” So the bottom line is it, it, it’s a white victim, you know, beaten down by some blacks. “Innocent.” I don’t see it on the innocent tip, because if that’s the case, then we supposed to have some empathy or some sympathy toward this one white man? It’s hke well, how ’bout the empathy and the sympathy toward blacks? You know, like I said before, we innocent. Like I said, you kidnapped us, you raped our women, you pull us over daily,
        
        Parker states that you can't expect sympathy without showing sympathy. And draws to attention is hypocrisy.
      - It’s gonna be my No Justice No Peace room. Gonna have up on the wall No Justice, over here No Peace, and have all my articles and clippings and, um, everything else. I guess so my son can see, my children can grow up with it. Know what Daddy did. You know, if I still happen to be here, God willin’, they can just see what it takes to be a strong black man, what you gotta do for your people.
        
        Pucker has a strong desire to not only be remembered, but to be a good influence on his children with the hopes to inspire them to fight like he did.
  - - - My enemy, who is Rudy Salas seniors anger and frustration towards white people especially those who have demanded he repress his identity and try to belittle him all his life.         and then at school, first grade, they started telling me I was inferior because I was a Mexican, and that’s where (He hits the table several times, taps, twenty-three taps until line the enemy” and then on “nice white teachers” his hand sweeps the table) I realized I had an enemy and that enemy was those nice white teachers. I wonder what is it, why did I have this madness that I understood this? It’s not an enemy I hated. It’s not a hate thing, the insanity that I carried with me started when I took the beating from the police.-
        
        I find it interesting that this anger isn't in a form of hatred, but instead it is simply an anchor created by an environment of miss treatent. The character Go want to describe this like a madness

        In her paper, Amia Srinivasan give a Critique of Nessboms Beyond anger,
        
        "Martha Nussbaum further(er) argu(s) that anger should be avoided even in circumstances of political injustice because of its tendency to alienate would-be allies, aggravate conflict, and ultimately undermine the pursuit of just outcomes"
        
        This ‘counterproductivity critique’ of anger also takes concrete, politicised form, as in the debate between Baldwin and Buckley. Martin Luther King wrote of Malcolm X that in ‘articulating the despair of the Negro without offering any positive, creative alternative’ he has ‘done himself and our people a great disservice

        This short excerpt really sums up the ultimate narrative of beyond anger. The ultimate flaws of the pursuit of revenge and fury
