Definition: Interim-Benchmark Assessments are used to see how well students are progressing in their learning within a unit, and are used to determine how well students will perform on future assessments.

Definition: Performance Assessments require students to perform and/or complete a task to demonstrate their knowledge as opposed to typical testing.

Definition: Diagnostic Assessments are pre-assessments that look to determine where students are ahead of a instructional unit. DAs help find student trouble spots, misconceptions, but provides positive data as well, such as points of previous knowledge where students may exceed.
