Checking Protocols
- Businesses need to ensure they have processes in place to check documents before they are released to the public to protect their image.
- Documents are checked for errors and accuracy, omissions and clarity
Business documents are mostly checked by a manager, a solicitor, a proofreader or an agency
- A repercussion of documents not being checked is that errors may be missed which could affect the reputation of the business, lead to delays or a loss in customers and business opportunities
IT Security Protocols
- Procedures put in place in relation to the appropriate and secure use of IT equipment and software.
- IT Security Protocols should cover both unauthorised and inappropriate use of IT equipment or software
- The Computer Misuse Act 1990 deals specifically with the crime of accessing or modifying data stored on a computer system without authorisation
- Inappropriate use of IT equipment or software are use for personal reasons, unauthorised software being installed and loss of information due to misuse
- Consequences of inappropriate use of IT equipment and software can be lower productivity, waste of business time and money and possible lawsuits.
Employment Protocols
- Employment Legislation is a law that establishes employee and employer rights and responsibilities
- Employment Legislation covers 9 acts of law within a business
- Contractual obligations are duties or promises that need to be fulfilled by the employer to the employee and vice versa
