Target Audience Research
My task for target audience is to check popular/successful games which have reviews from both sides, positive reviews and reviews which give out information to the creator on how they can improve certain aspects, my game i want to be aiming at the age group of 12+/ 16+ mainly because my game doesn't include any bad language and also there is mild violence, the only thing to watch out for is fear but that's about it.
Technical/ Experimentation Research
Google forms, creating a google forms sheet will allow me to add relevant questions about my upcoming project and receive feedback on how i should approach my ideas.
Youtube, watching different youtube tutorials on obstacles i may come across, using youtube will allow me to gain access on things i need to do correctly in order for me to not waste as much time on arts i am stuck on
Researching other game titles which link to the project which i'm currently working on will allow me to gain ideas on what i could include within my game, not only that but add twists of my own so it isn't all copyright.
Real world Research
A dark forest, gives off that real doom and gloom feel to it, you want to make the player feel like they are being watched in a forest to give of that scary feeling
A dark mansion which again gives off a dark feeling to it, a mansion which is full of different surprises about the past of the mansion, what happened to the previous owners and the whole story of the place, also why you are there in the first place to allow the player to know the story of the character that they are playing
Chernobyl is a great example of how the setting will look with buildings crumbling and nature taking over the place it gives off that gloomy feel to it, plus with the place being radioactive it fits well in to a survival category
