Studio Philosophy:
To create a learner-centered environment that promotes creativity, inclusion, and out-of-the-box imaginative ideas while showing the importance of Art and Technological education for students at a young age

3rd grade STEAM Design Space, focusing on the Technology, Engineering, and Art aspects of STEAM most heavily
35-AP-03 Construct programs that include sequences
35-AP-04 Construct programs using simple loops

Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes
using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals
Project Loading Space:
Cubbies for students to place their unfinished tangible work so that they can resume their projects the next time they come into the design studio
Clay Magic Station:
Students can use clay in three different ways at this station
create a sculpture blindfolded and with noise cancelling headphones on to enhance the sense of touch to create something from their imagination
create something from their art journal that they originally designed
create a tutorial piece that has paper instructions that spacemakers will have to follow step by step in order to learn sequential and rule order processing
Green Screen Stories Station:
Students can take pictures and videos in front of a green screen to tell different stories. There are scripts that they can follow or they can make things up as they go showing the importance of storytelling as a means of creative communication
The Junk Yard:
Bins full of different types of "junk" for the students to create with - lego bin, paper scraps bin, metal scraps bin, arts/crafts bin, etc.
Programming Station:
Contains laptops and tablets for computer programming on digital apps (Scratch & Animoto) as well as circuit boards (Arduino boards)
3D Printing Station:
Set up with a 3D printer and SketchUp software so that students can bring their imaginative creations to life!
