        The Strategic Services Unit (SSU) was a temporary replacement while the government found a more stable solution to the void left by the abolishment of the war agencies.
    - - SSU is replaced by the the Central Intelligence Group in January 22, 1946.
        
        The Central Intelligence Group (CIG) was able to carry out research and analysis on their own account, in difference to the previous agencies.
        
        Rear Admiral Sidney Souers became the first Director of Central Intelligence. The CIG became the United States' primary agency for overseas strategic activities.

- - - - Also known as Clandestine Service, it has the mission of collection foreign intelligence from human assets worldwide and carrying out covert programs.
    - - Conformed by analysts who carries out assessments of foreign events and individuals by using the information provided by the Directorate of Operations and other intelligence agencies.
    - - Provides administrative support for the CIA.
    - - Technical collections programs such as the Foreign Broadcast Information Service, and provides technical support to the Directorate of Operations.

      - They were also involved in many other events against other nations such as the Guatemalan coup d'etat against the leftist government in 1954 and the Chilean coup d'etat of 1973, fearing the spread of communism in Latin America.
