Able to undergo pressure without breaking, opposite of being weak.
Journey to getting strong is being weak- in weight lifting you literally tear your muscles in order to build them up stronger and bigger

The role I play at the academy in strengthening bonds with women, keeping women in combat sports and helping them feel safe
Competing in brackets with girls 20lbs heavier than me, feeling weak and small
Coming out of competitions on top, even as the smaller player
Stepping on the mat in the first place, simply showing up as myself
After competitions, getting congratulated on the win etc. however, I got more “you’re so strong” comments when I was able to continue training after a ~situation~ at the gym with coaches and management
Even within this safe community space getting taken advantage of and manipulated by a coach into a messy relationship that ended poorly
Mental health being recognized more lately and vulnerability being looked at as a strong, powerful, human thing to do
First comp with girls heavier, came out on top and felt proud and strong
3rd comp with girls heavier, after stuff went down at the gym and tested me mentally, came out in 2nd and it felt better than 1st because it wasn’t winning but getting out there after everything that had happened that I found strength in
Women are seen as weak because we are naturally more emotional. Expressing emotions and feeling real human feelings seen as weak because it is seen as a feminine trait
What makes women strongER at the end of the day is this capability to express emotions and feel this feelings together or alone
