Social Isolation - New members or students to any sort of community may feel left out, and specifically isolated due to their exposure to a large, already bonded community. Obviously, trying to add a new piece to an already completed puzzle is near impossible, and because of this, that puzzle piece is usually left out, forced to isolate itself from the rest of the group. That, of course, was just an analogy; but when applying this to a human being, the consequences of this phenomenon can be detrimental to both their psychological and academic performance.
