Uses of CBD
CBD was first approved as a drug in 2018 by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the name “Epidiolex” for the treatment of seizures in children with severe forms of epilepsy.
CBD is reportedly used by many people across the globe for various ailments including pain relief, sleep, and general wellness.
What is CBD
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical in the Cannabis sativa plant, also known as cannabis or hemp. One specific form of CBD is approved as a drug in the U.S. for seizures.
Legality
CBD is extracted from the leaves of the cannabis, then technically it is not illegal. CBD oil manufactured under a licence issued by the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 can be legally used. However, the use of cannabis as a medicine is not much prevalent in India.
