Eurymachus makes a plan to rush at Odysseus and run away, but Odysseus soon kills him with the sword as Amphinomus tries to attack Odysseus, Telemachus leaps and thrust a spear through him. Telemachus hurries and goes to the storeroom to take eight spears, four shields, and four bronze helmets for himself, his father, and two herdsmen. Telemachus accidentally leaves the storeroom door ajar, and Melanthius takes weapons from there. Odysseus plans to trap the suitors in the storeroom and kill them.
