Beliefs & ideals held by our society as a democracy as by understanding this, we can assess if the government is truly a democracy.
RESPECT
Treating others with consideration & valuing their views, beliefs & rights.
EQUALITY
Rights & privileges for everyone, without discrimination in any way.
FAIRNESS
Everyone treated fairly & given a 'fair go', without injustice.
FREEDOM
Rights, privileges & responsibilities for all without interference, or control from other citizens or government.
THE WESTMINSTER SYSTEM
A form of parliamentary government originating in the UK, which the Australia bases it's government off of.
Consisting of 2 houses, the Senate & House of Representatives, with all laws needed to be passed by majority (over half) of the representatives in both houses.

Different meanings depending on nationality, culture, values etc. For some it means revenge, whilst for others it means fairness.

however as of recently, Indonesia has been leaning towards a more representative democracy. Consisting of people voting to elect the parliaments and government.
