To become saturated with particulars of a passage so that one is thoroughly conscious of the need for their explanation

In which dispensation does this occur

What kind of literature is this (historical narrative, poetry, parables epistles, prophesy.
Historical
Where does this take place in time
Look for what the grammar and words are telling you
Look for kinds
Main verbs
Main Nouns
Recurring words
Difficult words
Unusual words
Other things to look for

How does the culture of the day effect the passage
Theme
What is the theme of the book
Structure
How are things structured in the passage and the book
Look for Identification words
Verbs
