How did religion support the feudal system?
They broke down into fragments of the big kingdom to protect them - Everyone had to rely on themselves
Everyone was self sufficient because of the broken down communities. The Catholic Church was a big thing in Europe. This created more of a spread throughout the small communities
Independent ideas were being used in the manor life. They were engineering and inventing new tools for farmers

Was the distinction between serfs and slaves important?
Yes because the
serfs
gave up their freedom
of movement and their labour in exchange for the benefits of life on the estate of a landowner. Serfs were the poorest of the peasant class, and were a type of slave. Lords owned the serfs who lived on their lands.
Serfs had some freedoms.
They could get and keep property and money.

The serfs could get in trouble by the law if they left the left

a crime. Peasants also paid a tax on marriage.

Government systems were kind of like pyramid. The king was above all and other people were to follow.
Medieval writers put people into three different groups
Those who fought (nobles and knights)
Those who prayed (men and women of the church)
Those who worked (peasants)
How did Feudalism compare to the Aryan caste system?
Answer: They both put people into different groups, but they were different types of groups.

Feudalism had two enormous effects on medieval society. Feudalism discouraged unified government and it also discouraged trade and economic growth.
The concept change could've been seen when Feudalism ended in Japan. Land could have been difficult to get and people wouldn't be working for each other.
