Serbian-Russian Alliance (Alliance) Alliance between Serbia and Russia would cause opposing countries to fear their power and could cause them to go to war so they can put down their growing power.
Anglo-Japanese Treaty (Alliance) The alliance's provisions for mutual defense permitted Japan to enter the First World War on the British side. The Treaty made possible the Japanese seizure of German possessions in the Pacific north of the equator during the War.
Start of Weltpolitik (Imperialism)
With Social-Darwinism strong in Europe, but particularly Germany, they believed in German superiority and racial right to owning foreign lands. Therefore Weltpolitik became integrated into the German war aims set out in the few years before the outbreak of conflict, and became increasingly apparent as a source of tension after the First and Second Moroccan crises. Thus, in giving an extra incentive to want to conduct a continental war to weaken their rivals and force the handover of colonies, Weltpolitik contributed heavily to the raising of tensions in the build up to war
Franco-Russian Military Alliance (Alliance) Formed as a result of Germany's support towards Austria-Hungary relations during the Bulgarian Crisis. Within this issued pact, the two nations sought to provide military support to each other amidst conflicts with the Triple Alliance.

Unification of Germany 1871 (Militarism)
Fear of Germany encouraged France and Russia to form an alliance in 1894. This pushed Germany into closer alliance with its neighbor, the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The members of these rival power blocs maintained mass armies through compulsory military service. This made war more likely because they threw off power balance

Entente Cordiale (alliance) Agreement between Britain and France that ended antagonisms between Great Britain and France and paved the way for their diplomatic cooperation against German pressures
