3 variants
Variant 1: Catholicism
Who:
- A Bishop, Priest, or Deacon may administer Baptism.
- Godparents are declared for infants to help support and guide them through finding their faith.
- Those being Baptised are known as confirmands.
Key elements:
- Water (To cleanse sin)
- White garment (Symbolic of purity)
- Oil (Symbolic of the holy spirit)
Understanding:
- a way in which parents can give thanks to God for the gift of their child.
- represents the forgiveness and cleansing from sin.
- Baptism marks the personal identification with Christ.
Variant 3: Orthadox

Understanding: - A belief that God is saving the individual through water and the Spirit, recreating his creation. - Baptism is one elopement of Chrismation which conforms
Variant 2: Anglican
Who:
- Only the priests may administer baptism.
- Anyone who has not previously been Baptised may receive the sacrament.
- Those being Baptised are known as confirmands.
