        Here, the mother to all modern dragons, Greyoll, lies. Having shed their gravel stone scales and their control over red lightning, the modern dragon is left with only two limbs and claws at the front of their wings. A definitive departure from the glory they once held.
        
        Fort Faroth stands beyond the fields of dragons.

      - Sellia was a town of Sorcery.
        It was the home of Master Lusat, where the influence of the Nox is evident.
        
        General Radahn
        Defeating the legend releases the stars from their infdefinite stasis.
        
        Starscourge Radahn, son of Radagon and Rennala, was considered to be the strongest of the demigods.
        From the teachings of an Alabaster Lord in the town of Sellia, Radahn would halt the stars in the sky, suspending the fate that they carried.
        
        The Battle of Aeonia.
        A battle between the strongest demigods, Malenia the Severed and Starscourge Radahn. Locked in stalemate, Malenia utilized the power of the Scarlet Bloom, shattering Radahn's mind and infecting all of Caelid with an incurable rot.
        Malenia was then carried home, to the Haligtree, by Cleanrot Knight Finlay.
  - - - Find Castle Mourne at the Southern tip of the Peninsula; meet Edgar the Revenger and hand him the letter.
        
        When returning to where Irina was, we find that she has been killed. Edgar is devastated.
        He regrets choosing his duty over the safety of his daughter.
        
        Meet a maiden called Hyetta along the cliffs overlooking Liurnia. She wishes to become a Finger Maiden someday, and asks for Shabriri Grapes.
        Her appearance is identical to Irinas'.
        
        Shabriri Grapes are the fermented eyes of those who have succumbed to Madness.
        Lightseeker Hyetta, possessing the reanimated body of Irina, seeks the Frenzied Flame through the consumption of these grapes.
        It seems that Irina's body has been reanimated or possessed with Hyetta's consciousness. How this is possible is not quite clear, though another instance of this happening can be found through Yura and Shabriri himself.
        
        Edgar the Revenger can be found in the Revenger's Shack in Western Liurnia. Defeating him will grant a Shabriri Grape.
        Edgar was driven mad by grief and his longing for revenge due to his daughter's death.
        
        After giving all three Shabriri Grapes to Hyetta, she asks us to find a Fingerprint Grape.
        She seeks the eye of one who has been clasped by the Three Fingers already.
        
        Of every Tarnished regifted by grace, Vyke the Dragonspear was the closest to becoming Elden Lord.
        In the end, he chose to be engulfed by the Frenzied Flame.
        
        Reach the bottom of the tomb and find the Frenzied Flame Proscription.
        Approach the ominous doorway in your barest form and embrace the Three Fingers to inherit the Frenzied Flame, despite Melina's wishes.

      - At night, encounter a Night's Cavalry.
        A knight clad in blackened armour, riding a veiled steed. They only patrol under the guise of the night.

        The Academy of Raya Lucaria looms over the crystal-clear waters.
        
        Find a woman named Rya and get her necklace back from Blackguard Big Boggart.
        She will invite you to the Volcano Manor once you have reached the Altus Plateau and proven your worth.
        
        Journey to Volcano Manor.
        Here, the Recusants gather in the name of Blasphemy.
        
        The Recusants are Tarnished Warriors led by Tanith and Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, who stand against the Erdtree. They seek to eliminate the Golden Order and the Greater Will from the Lands Between.
        
        Praetor Rykard, son of Radagon and Rennala, was originally respected by his men for seeking to overthrow the Golden Order. However, his ambitions soon turned to greed as he allowed himself to be consumed by the God-Devouring Serpent, an immortal creature that was worshipped by the people of Mt. Gelmir in ancient times.
        Many of his men, horrified at what he had become, turned against him, searching for –and eventually finding– the legendary spear who could fell the serpent.
        
        Journey to Caria Manor, looming over the cliffs to the North.
        
        Talk to Ranni the Witch.
        Enter her servitude and unbind her fate.
        
        Go to Siofra River and meet Blaidd to find a "secret treasure" in the bordering city of Nokron.
        
        Ranni departs with the Fingerslayer Blade; traverse to the Carian Study hall and reach the top of the Divine Tower of Liurnia.
        Find half of the Cursemark of Death upon Ranni's slain Empyrean flesh.
        
        Gain access to the Ainsel River Basin from the teleporter in Renna's Rise. Adventure further to find the Eternal City of Nokstella.

        The Village of the Albinauics lies in the shadows of a moonlit plateau.
        Here, the first half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion lies.
        
        Activate the Grand Lift of Dectus using the two halves of the Medallion and ascend to the Altus Plateau.
        
        Scale the side of Mt. Gelmir, tainted by ceaseless battle.
        At the peak, face off against a fully-grown calamity born from stardust.
        
        The Village of the Albinaurics was once the home of many First Generation Albinaurics; the failed products of the Eternal Cities and their attempt to create an Elden Lord. Made from the liquid silver of Silver Tears, they were meant to bring about the Age of Stars, so the Nox may thrive again.
        The first generation are cursed so that their legs wither with time, while the second generation are cursed with the appearance of a frog and an apparent decrease in intellect.
        
        The Consecrated Snowfields are hidden away behind a secret passage, only accessible to those with the Secret Medallion.
        Through the ceaseless snowstorms, Ordina, Liturgical Town, can be found, with a gateway to a faraway land.
        
        Miquella's Haligtree, misshapen and dying, stands tall in the distance.
        Realizing that the Golden Order could no nothing to cure himself or his sister, Miquella would start a new order of unalloyed gold, free from the influence of Outer Gods.
        Within the branches of the Haligtree and the walls of Elphael, no race would be shunned for how they were born. Many considered it a promised land; the Kindred of Rot, the Misbegotten, and the Albinaurics.
        
        The Haligtree was grown from a sapling of the Erdtree.
        Miquella would water the sprout with his own blood; nursing it to rival the Greater Will itself.
        Miquella had promised his sister that he would absolve her of her curse, and created needles of unalloyed gold to do as such. However, these objects of warding were only a temporary solution, and Miquella would embed himself into the Haligtree in order to ascend to Godhood.
        After all, Miquella had always been associated with the purest of gold.
        
        Royal Knight Loretta, who once served the Carian Royal Family, was an Albinauric herself. She would devote her life to helping her people, guiding them to the Haligtree.
        
        Proceed to the Academy and defeat Rennala, Carian Queen of the Full Moon.
        She gently cradles an amber egg, gifted to her by Radagon before his departure. Inside the egg is the Great Rune of the Unborn.
        
        The Academy of Raya Lucaria is led by Rennala, a member of the Carian royal family. While the scholars of the academy seek to study the stars, Rennala and the Carian house –established as royalty with her leadership position– focused instead on the moon.
        
        When Radagon left Rennala to be with Marika, she locked herself in the grand library, overcome with grief. The scholars of the academy took this opportunity to rebel against the Carian royals.
      - Find a Shabriri Grape in the castle below Godrick's arena, leading towards Liurnia of the Lakes.
      - Godrick is a distant relative of the Golden Lineage; his demigod blood is sorely diluted.
  - - - Encounter Ancient Dragon Lansseax.
        An age-old dragon with scales of stone. She is the sister to Lichdragon Fortissax.
        
        Gransax once attacked the Royal Capital of Leyndell; marking the only time in historical record that the city's walls have fallen and the beginning of the war against the Ancient Dragons.
        Godwyn the Golden would befriend Lichdragon Fortissax after defeating him in battle, giving rise to the Ancient Dragon Cult in Leyndell.
        Lansseax would converse with the cultists as a priest in human form.
        It was said that only those whom the dragons loved could shield their bodies in protective lightning. Of these warriors, Lansseax loved Vyke the Dragonspear the most.
        
        Godwyn the Golden was the firstborn* son of Marika and Godfrey, and first of the demigods to die during the Night of the Black Knives.
        Half of the Rune of Death was carved upon his body; his body remains while his soul was destroyed. Laid to rest in the roots of the Erdtree, his body would eventually corrupt and become the first of Those who Live in Death, spreading Deathroot across the Lands Between. His death would cause Marika to shatter the Elden Ring, and Shattering war would ensue.
        During the siege of the Ancient Dragons of the Royal Capital, Godfrey befriended Lichdragon Fortissax after defeating him in battle.
        
        Those who Live in Death are in direct contradiction to the ideologies of the Golden Order.
        Marika removed the Rune of Death from the Elden Ring so that death would not be permanent for any being living under the Golden Order. Souls are supposed to return to the roots of the Erdtree to undergo a process of rebirth.
        
        Rebirth also existed, albeit in different forms, before the age of the Erdtree.
        The Ancestor Spirits found in Siofra River gain strength from the spirits of their followers; through this, the death of one being is reborn into the strength of another.
        The Deathbirds and their Outer God, the Twinbird, promised their followers eventual rebirth through the Ghostflame.
        
        Ranni, daughter of Radagon and Rennala, was chosen by the Two Fingers as an Empyrean –a demigod to succeed Queen Marika as the god of the coming age. Ranni, however, was not content with this fate.
        In what would come be known as the Night of the Black Knives, Ranni –with help from her brother, Praetor Rykard– stole part of the Rune of Death from Maliketh, the Black Blade. Carving half of the rune upon her Empyrean flesh, her body was destroyed while her soul was placed inside a doll made to resemble the Snow Witch that was once her mentor.
        
        On that night, the Black Knife Assassins –a group of women Numen by race, likely similar to Queen Marika herself– had the other half of Destined Death carved into their blades, which they used to murder Godwyn, along with other nameless demigods found in the Walking Mausoleums.
        
        Though never directly stated, Godwyn's lineage can be inferred quite easily.
        Godwyn, as a demigod, must be the son of Marika. Through naming conventions, we can infer that his father is Godfrey –and that he is part of the Golden Lineage through his father and his title.
        *It is widely assumed by the greater fanbase that Godwyn was the firstborn heir of the Golden Lineage, supported by the precedent of having a significant death that similar firstborns have set in previous FromSoftware titles.
        
        In the age before the Erdtree, it was the age of the Dragons. Placidusax reigned as Elden Lord.
      - Defeat Morgott, the Omen King at the heart of the capital.
        The Erdtree's impenetrable thorns stand in the way of progress; take the Rold Medallion given to you by Melina and seek the Giantsflame.
        
        Ascend to the Forbidden Lands.
        A narrow strait of land that leads to the snowy mountains.
        
        Proceed to the Mountaintops of the Giants.
        Here, the thick layer of snow never melts.
        However, this was not always the case.
        
        Defeating the last Fire Giant releases the flame from its seal; sacrifice Melina, the Kindling Maiden, to set the Erdtree ablaze.
        Next, Destined Death must be unleashed once more. Marika's shadow can be found in the citadel frozen in time.
        
        Crumbling Farum Azula hangs in the skies above the ocean.
        Seek the holder of Destined Death.
        
        The once mighty citadel of the Ancient Dragons now lies suspended both in the air and in time. These ruins likely once drifted across the Lands Between, scattering debris upon the earth. Perhaps its journey will soon come to an end.

        After returning from Farum Azula, find that Leyndell has been buried in ash drifting from the burning Erdtree.

        The mountains were once home to the Fire Giants and their Fell God, manifesting as a one-eyed face on their chest.
        The Flame of Ruin, ever-burning in the Forge of the Giants, had the ability to burn away even the Erdtree itself.
        
        Fearing this would come to pass, Marika the Eternal likely ordered Godfrey, the First Elden Lord and her consort at the time, to wage war on the Giants.
        With the aid of the Ancient Heroes of Zamor who wielded the freezing winds, the Golden Order would emerge victorious.
        When Marika realized that the Giant's flame could never be extinguished, she cursed the last remaining Fire Giant to tend to the sealed flame for eternity.
        
        The Helphen was said to be a tall spire, as seen on most churches and cathedrals, that guides the souls of the dead to the underworld.
        The red mist seen permeating the mist that envelops the Forbidden Lands is likely to be the lamplight that guides these souls.
      - The Ever-Brilliant Goldmask was once a scholar of great renown, devout to the Golden Order.
        With his true belief to the ideology of Golden Order fundamentalism, he is willing to challenge the current order and create the perfect order for which he had envisioned for himself.
        
        The Golden Order was holistic in nature, seeking to define and explain every aspect of life through its set of beliefs.
        Radagon of the Golden Order would seek to define Golden Order fundamentalism through two laws: the Law of Regression, and the Law of Causality.
        
        Together, these two laws show that the Golden Order believed that all things are interconnected; that all things should utilize these connections to converge, or regress, and become one once more.
        These laws, which suggest that all is connected and all shall converge, fit neatly into the Golden Order's holistic ideals.
        With this, it also becomes clear why the Golden Order viewed certain groups as lesser beings; those who are not fit to be part of their world.
        
        The Law of Regression makes it clear that concepts like chaos and diversity are disliked by such fundamentalists, the essence of which can be found in the blessings of the Crucible.
        Similarly, the idea that all life shall converge at the roots of the Erdtree upon death to be reborn is one of the foundational practices of the Golden Order. Those who Live in Death clearly break this cycle, and are as such seen a a threat.
        
        Goldmask was a firm believer in fundamentalism.
        What separated him from his fellow scholars was his capacity to realize that the current Order is not perfect.
        His vision of a perfect order would manifest as a rune to mend the Elden Ring.
        
        Mend the Elden Ring with the Mending Rune of Perfect Order.
        Become the Elden Lord in the Age of Order.
  - - - Find Godwyn the Golden's corpse in the Deeproot Depths, entangled with the roots of the Primordial Crucible and the Erdtree.
        A nameless Eternal City lays in ruins below; its false night sky stolen by a malformed star.
        
        This stolen night sky can be seen in the cavern where Astel, Naturalborn of the Void is encountered.
        An identical being known as Astel, Stars of Darkness can be found in the Yelough Anix Tunnel, but does not carry an imitation of the cosmos alongside it.
        It is likely that Astel, Naturalborn of the Void was the one to bring destruction upon the third Eternal City.
        
        The Crucible was the primordial form of the Erdtree, where all aspects of life were blended together as one.
        Previously revered as a blessing, those who possess aspects of the Crucible could not be granted the blessing of Grace, and were thus shunned by the Golden Order.
        
        The Misbegotten were one such people, shunned as lesser beings through their animalistic features.
        
        Far below the capital, children born with the blessing of the Crucible; as Omen, were seen as accursed beings. Many were hunted, others were sealed in the sewers below, in the Subterranean Shunning Grounds.
        
        The Dung Eater can be found in the Roundtable Hold as an apparition.
        A vicious madman, his true body is locked away in the sewers of Leyndell. He cultivates Seedbed curses upon his victims, preventing their souls from returning to the Erdtree.
        Instead, they are reborn in the roots of the Crucible, accursed with its blessing. So too will their children, and their children's children.
        
        With enough Seedbed Curses, a cursed rune will coalesce, used to mend the Elden Ring and usher in an age where all beings are accursed.
        If the world is defiled entirely, then it will be considered defiled no more.
        
        Mend the Elden Ring with the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse.
        Become the Elden Lord of the Blessing of Despair.
        
        Mohgwyn and Morgott were twin demigods born to Marika and Godfrey. Born as Omen, they were locked in the sewers under the capital, their horns never cut.
        While the Golden Order had all but forsaken him, Morgott, the Omen King, the Grace-Given, the Veiled Monarch remained loyal to it. He would protecting the Erdtree throughout the Shattering as the last King of Leyndell. Along with his horns and cursed blood, he inherited a tail, similar to the one seen in the Aspect of the Crucible: Tail incantation.
        
        Contrary to his brother, Mohgwyn abandoned the Golden Order entirely. He now worships the Formless Mother, the Mother of Truth, to bring forth a new dynasty. He inherited feathered wings, similar to the ones that many Misbegotten have.
        
        Mohg, Lord of Blood would carve Miquella from the Haligtree and bring his cocoon to Mohgwyn Palace.
        To usher in his coming dynasty, Mohg needed a lord. He sought Miquella to fulfill this role, but the Empyrean would never heed his calls.
        With Miquella removed from the Haligtree, it soon began to wither.

        An apparition of Mohg can be found deep in the Shunning Grounds, similar to the apparition of Margit created by Morgott.
        The entrance to the tomb a forgotten people is hidden away with him.
        
        The Nomadic Merchants were sealed away, far below even the Subterranean Shunning Grounds.
        Thus, they channeled their fury into a curse, bestowing upon the Lands Between the Frenzied Flame. The few Nomadic Merchants who remain scattered throughout the continent attack with Madness when provoked.
        
        The Crucible Knights were elite warriors that served Godfrey, the First Elden Lord.
        Numbering sixteen in total, they would eventually be held in distain because of their connections with the Crucible.
        
        With both halves of the Cursemark, found on the corpses of Ranni the Witch and Godwyn the Golden, Death is whole once more.
        With this rune, mend the Elden Ring and usher in an age where Destined Death is restored.
        
        Mend the Elden Ring with the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince.
        Become the Elden Lord in the Age of the Duskborn.
