The people (change in women's roles)
10% of the population in Rwanda were killed, and around 75% of them were Tutsis.
Most of the victims were men which means that there were more women around which means that the role of women had changed.
Around 66% of the households were headed by women since the victims in the genocide were mostly men.
Since there were more women, many women went into politics and they were mostly the ones who reconstructed their society.
Before the genocide around 50% of girls only had a small formal education which was changed, as today girls and boys receive the primary and secondary education.

refugee crisis
The refugee problem was badly managed and there weren't any solutions to the problem.
the camps which the refugees stayed in were in bad conditions and they would all live tightly together.
Somewhere around 2 to 3 million people fled Rwanda in 1994 because of the genocide.
Even before the genocide there were refugees in the neighbouring countries who had fled because of events that happened before the genocide.
The Tutsi refugees had created the RPF in the late 80s.
The RPF then had recruited refugees to fight in the genocide and they were responsible for the worst massacres during the genocide.
