Anyone who killed cats were severely punished, as they were seen as good luck

The calendar we use today is around the same as the Roman calendar

The saunas were heated by lighting fires underneath

The Romans introduced police and fire systems
The Romans introduced trial by jury, a way we decide what to do with someone
The law system also came from the Romans

Roman roads were straight, which meant you got to places faster than winding roads
Roman roads were built to help soldiers get to the battlefield
There were 50,000 miles of Roman roads built over the empire
Many modern roads were built over Roman roads
They added pine trees over the roads, so as the Romans marched to battle they could stay cool
