Rules and Instructions
Clear and brief
Have the child repeat them softly to themselves

Consequences

Types of Consequences
Must have sufficient reinforcement value or magnitude
occasional praise or reprimand are not enough
Incentives
Must be balanced with punishment
Powerful reinforcement programs should be established 1 - 2 weeks before implementing punishment
