People began ro resent the church for its link to wealthy elites and aristocracy.
Antl-clerical people in urban areas begin to protest due this.

Primarily an agriculture economy, very little industry and tech development.
Agricultural work was seasonal, affecting workers income.
Rural workers lived in poverty due to this.
Huge economic diisions in rural areas often led to protests and riots.
"Grandees" where a group of elites that owned vast landed estates in the center and south of Spain.
In the north, peasents owned small parts of land
