Mesopotamia

writing:In the text it says that "sumerians devise the worlds first script or writing system, at first they only used pictures."the author also wrote In 3300 Bc the people of urak were using around 700 different symbols of pictures.(steele 12)
architecture: In the text in says "A lasting symbol of mesopotamia is the ziggurats a massive terraced platform made of brick." the text also said ziggurats are similar to pyramids from ancient egypt.( steele 24)
religion:In the text it said that ¨they believed that the stars traveling across the night sky were the cows of sin or nanna,the horned moon god.¨ The author also said they worshiped many gods and goddesses and one of them was enki god of water and wisdom.(steele 14)
government: In the text It says the city of ashur bega to grow wealthy from trading with anatolia as early as 2000 Bc.The Author also wrote "The area under Assyrian control expanded again under sargon II who seized power in 721 Bc.(steele 40)
art:In the text it says ¨mesopotamia mastered many technologies at an early point in their history." the author says that they even invented pottery wheels some point i 3500 Bc. (steele 28)

Location: On page 8 it said that " the ancient egyptians lived on a strip of land on either side of the nile." Also, the text states that in the "red land," small settlements are supported in wadis and oases,but most people live along the Nile River ( Hart 8)
Writing: In the text it said "Scribes had to be expert in writing hieroglyphs an elaborate from of picture-writing with about 700 different signs" It also said It was very complicated So no very many people knew it and scribes kept their position.(hart 34)
Architecture: In the text it said " the first pyramid was built as the burial place of king Djoser in c.2650 BCE." it also said it was supposed to be a big stair way for the king to climb to join the sun god in the sky.( h art 20)
Religion: In the text it says "The egyptians worshiped many gods and goddesses Sometimes it was hard to tell who was who." Also, it says Many of their gods and goddesses were represented by animals. (Hart 24)
Government: In the text it says " beyond this hall was the "hall of gold," where the king would be buried." Also it says when the king dies he will be surrounded with super expensive jewelry and furniture. ( Hart 22)
Art:In the book it said that some of the games they use modern day games that the still use today like leapfrog.In the text it also said "there were bored games like snake and more complicated senet,and number of toys,from model animals and dolls to balls." ( Hart 52)
Ancient china :
Art- On page 50 it said that most chinese people worked from sunrise to sunset and didn't have the normal days off. The text also said,¨ The little free time the people had they spent playing dice,card games,or games with skill such as chess.¨ As a result The people did play games and do fun stuff but most of their time was spent working and going to festivals.(Cotterell)

Commerce: In the text it said,That the mongols could control the length of the silk road and made it safe for caravans to travel without danger.Also,it states the the ¨Chinese merchants amassed large fortune by exploring luxury goods.¨As a result,trade in ancient china thrived and imports were extremely valuable.(Page 58 Cotterell)
location: On page 40 the author wrote that ¨the landscape of imperial china was dotted with walled towns and cities.¨ It also explains that these towns were traditionally built with a grid system and separated into wards,and that these towns and cities were strictly under the control of authorities.As a result,the gates of these towns and cities were locked every evening and the authorities keep registers of the inhabitants of every house.(Cotterell)
