Ancient china
Government: The author wrote that "The qin soldiers defeated the last of their enemies and united the 'warring states' under one leader, Zegna." When they defeated the enemy they took the title of Sovereign Qin Emperor. Also the text said that the Emperor's tomb had thousand of life sized terracotta warriors. (Cotterell 16)
technology: On page 22,it said that most of the chinese inventions were brought to different areas throughout the silk road. A lot of the invention that the chinese made impacted the middle ages a lot Also it states that" Chinese inventions that made the world a different place were paper money, clockwise, silk, porcelain, fireworks, Kites, umbrelass, and the wheelbarrow."(Cotterell)
writing: On page 11, it said that the people believed when the oracle bone cracked it was a message from their ancestors. The orcles was a tortoise shell or ox bone. Also it states that "cracks were then read to discover the answer to a question put to the ancestors.(Cotterell)
commerce (trade): The text said that the Silk Road was a trade route that connected northern China and asia. The Mongols were ruling china at the time and they decided to remove the restraints that merchants have. The text also says "for most of their rule, the Mongols ignored the opinions of Chinese officials, and social positions of merchants temporarily improved." (Cotterell 58)
art: In the text it said "In imperial China, luxury goods formed the major exports commodities - Chinese bronze, jade, silk, lacquer, and porcelain were prized in Asia and Europe." Also the text said that people used raw material and did everything by hand because they didn't have any manufacturing. The text also said that when farmers, peasants, scholars, and artisans were important they started making weapons for the army. (Cotterell 56)
location: On page 38, the text says that china has 2 waterways which are the Yellow River and the Yangzi River. The Yellow River flows through rich soil that is around the northern plains while the Yangzi River goes flows through the southern climate which provides water for the rice. The text also says " The canal was used to transport rice from the Yangzi delta to northern china, where the imperial capital was situated." (Cotterell)
religion: On page 12 it said that Confucius wanted every family to be united together because strong family makes a strong society. He thinks that the ruler should set a good example to the subjects. Also it states that " the chinese came to see themselves as a part of a greater family the encompassed not only the living but also the dead.

Location:On page 8 it said"The ancient Egyptians lived on a strip of land on either side of the Nile" Also, the text states "Red land, " small settlements are supported in wadis and oases, but most people live along the Nile River. (Hart 8
Writing: The system used for writing in ancient egypt is called hieroglyphics. The text said "Scribes had to be experts in hieroglyphics." (Hart 34)
Architecture: In the text "The first was built in the burial place of King Djoser in c.2650 BCE, by his gifted architect Imhotep"Also the pyramid built for king khufu is the largest pyramid in giza. (hart 20
Government: The text states"The king was not only the most powerful and important man in Egypt-he was thought to be a god." Plus the wife that was related to them was considered a goddess. (hart 10)
Art: The text says "At the time of the pharaohs farming produced an abundance of food, so hunting was mainly recreation of kings and courtiers." Also they have hunted a lot of lions, wild bulls, gazelles, oryx, and antelopes. (Hart 44)
Religion: On page 24 its says" The Egyptians worshiped hundreds of different gods and goddesses, and sometimes it is difficult to work out who was who."Also the text says There are 42 different districts that each have their own gods(Hart24)
