Ancient China
Government: On page 16, it states that in 221 B.C the first Chinese Empire was formed which was leader Zheng. In the text it also can be found that it stated "The First Emperor seems to have thought he would become immortal. He built an impressive tomb guarded by thousands of life-size terracotta warriors, probably in the belief he would remain a powerful man in the afterlife." After the first ruler Chinese felt the unity was normal. (Cotterell)
Religion: In the text it states the Chinese people looked over gardens as to be work of art. On page 54, it states that "The main elements of a garden were the same as those of a traditional landscape painting craggy mountains and still water. (Cotterell)
Writing: On page 11, it said that the Shang kings used oracle bones to communicate with ancestors about questions. Also, it states that "The cracks were then read to discover the answer to a question put to the ancestors." The answers to the questions were written on the ox bone or tortoiseshell.(Cotterell)
Technology: On page 24, it sated that paper,printing, and books were most important to those who lived in China. In the text it also stated (BY the end of the Tang dynasty, bookshops were trading in every Chinese city. The printer was invented in the Song dynasty. (Cotterell)
Art: On page 56, it states that China has always been known for their exquisite art artifacts. In the text it also says that "In imperial China, luxury goods formed the major export commodities-Chinese bronze,jade, silk, lacquer, and porcelain were prized in Asia and Europe. They also produced tools in such for the army which were luxury. (Cotterell)
Location: On page 42, it states that "In most Chinese homes, three generations of the same family lived under one roof. Families followed a strict codes of conduct, which were reflected in the layout of their homes." In the text it also states that rooms which were along the sides of the outer courtyard ended up being used for housing those who came along like guests. (Cotterell)
Commerce(Trade): On page 58, it says that the Silk Road was controlled by the Mongol emperors including all the routes. Also it stated that "Chinese merchants amassed large fortunes by exporting luxury goods such as silk, spices, teas,porcelain, and lacquerware." The Silk Road had merchants which ended up getting excluded from civil service jobs. (Cotterell)

Ancient Egypt
Location: In the text it stated that in ancient Egypt, "desert covers more than 90 percent of Egypt," and this was called the "Red Land." Also the text states that for thousands of years, the population of Egypt has depended on its fertile agricultural resources.(Hart 8)
Writing: In the text it states "Scribes had to be expected in writing hieroglyphs, and elaborate form of picture-writing with about 700 different signs." Also it says that it was hard to master it because only the scribes were able to master it. In conclusion it is hard to master it.(Hart 34)
Architecture: In the text it states "The idea of tthis pyrimid was to recreate the mound that had emerged out of watery ground at the begining of time, on which the sun god stood and brought the other gods and goddesses into being." The also states "Later pyridmaids contained inscriptains of spells to help the afterlife." In conclusion the acient pyridmids were a very important things for the parahohs. (Hart 20)
Government: In the article it sates that Ancient egypt was a theocratic monarchy and was polytheistic which meant they had a belief in many gods. It also states that one of ancient egypts famous goddesses was Isis being the strongest, and being more powerful then others. (Hart 36)
Religion: In the text it stated that "The Egyptians worshiped hundreds of different gods and goddesses, and sometimes it was difficult to work out who was who." The text also stated that "Many gods are represented as animals: a baboon might stand for Thoth, god of wisdom, at one temple, and moon god named khonsu at another." (Hart 24)
Art:In the text it states that "Ancient sculptures, paintings, and decorative crafts produced mostly in the dynastic periods of the 3rd–1st millennium bce in the Nile valley of Egypt and Nubia." Also in the text it states that ancient egypt is well known for its paintings, statues, and architecture. In conclusion ancient egypt is well know and famous for there art. (Hart 10)
