government: In the text it says "Gaozu led one of the peasant armies that overthrew the Qin dynasty in 207 B.C." In the text it also says, "Those who passed the top palace examinations could expect to be appointed as ministers or even marry princesses.
writing: On page 11, it said that they "used oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirits on important matter."Also, answer from important questions were answered from the cracks on the oracle bones. Oracle bones were inscribed on ox bone and tortoiseshell. (Cotterell)
art: In the text it says, "unlike the merchants who sold their handiwork, artisans were well thought of in China. In the tet it also says they produced tools for agriculture and weapons for the army as well as luxury items such as decorated tableware and fine silk cloth. Lastly, many ancient chinese artwork was a job to be applied for. (Cotterell 38)
religion: In the text it says, " An important family festival was the QingMing, when people swept clean the graves of their family ancestors and left offerings of food for the ancestral spirits. In the text it also says, "People believed the dragon brought happiness and good fortune." The text also says that the chinese sent their leisure hours listening to music.
technology: on page 22 and 23 it says ''Some of the greatest inventions came from China''. They made ''silk, porcelain, fireworks, kites, umbrellas, and the wheelbarrow''. These are just some of the technology they had at this time.(cotterell) 
commerce/trade: In the text it says, " the mongol emperors ruled China from 1279 to 1386 and permitted merchants to trade freely throughout their vast empire." The text also talks about how China profited hugely off trade. In the text it also says, "traditionally, merchants were excluded from civil service jobs and were subject to heavy taxes. (cotterell 58)
location: Ancient China was located in Asia. In the text it says "the Yangzi river provided a water supply got rice cultivation in the warm southern climate." The text also states "The yellow river flows through the riches loess soil of its banks and caused devastating floods.

Ancient Egypt
Location: In the text it said, "desert covers more than 90 percent of Egypt," and this was called the "Red Land." Also the text states that for thousands of years, the population of Egypt depended on its fertile agricultural resources. (Hart 8)
Writing: In the text it says, "it was deliberately kept complicated so not many people could master it and the scribes kept their special position." In the text it also says Hieroglyphs were used on state monuments, temples, tombs and religious papyri. (hart 13)
Architecture: In the text it says, "The first pyramid was built as the burial place of king djoser in 2560 bce." The text also says, "It was supposed to represent a gigantic stairway for the king to climb to join the sun god in the sky. ! (hart 24)
Religion: In the text it says the Egyptians worshiped hundreds of gods and goddesses, and sometimes it is difficult to work out who has who." In the text it also says, "many of the gods were represented by animals." (Hart 17)
Government: In the text it says, when people approached the king they often kissed the ground at his feet. In the text it also says "The king was not only the most powerful and important man in egypt, he was thought to be a god.(hart 17)
Art: In the text it says, "The gold could be beaten into shape or cast molds." The text also says, "Rings often incorporated a swiveling stone in the shape of a scarab beetle." (hart 58)
