Mesopotamia

Location: In the text it said the Greeks called the area of Mesopotamia, which means between the rivers.Also, in the text it states that "most of ancient Mesopotamia lay within the borders of modern Iraq. " (Steele 6) image

Writing: The author wrote that they used stylus's to write on wet clay. They also said "By about 3300 BCE they had around 700 symbols". (Steele 12). image

Architecture: In the text it said that ziggurats were built as a symbol of Mesopotamia. It also said that ziggurats means height. (Steele 24). image

Religion: The author wrote that they had many "Gods". They also said they had a God of Water, wisdom, and moon. Another example is they had great temples for there gods. (Steele page 14). image

Government:The author wrote that Akkad was a ruler who made the rules. I know this because on page 13 it said he ruled (Steele 28) image

Ancient Egypt

Location: In the text it said that in the ancient Egypt "Dessert covers more than 90% of Egypt" this was called the "Red Land". Also, the text states that for thousands of years , the population of Egypt has depended on its fertile agricultural resources. (Hart 8) image

Writing: Throughout the text it talks about how the scribes had to be experts at hieroglyphics and they had to be very smart to get the role of a scorbe. It also says throughout the text that they would write on lots of different things. (Hart34) image

Architecture:On page 20 the pyramids were built for dead pharaohs. In the text it said the pyramids were robbed of all there jewels. Hart 20

Religion: The author wrote that Egyptians worshipped hundreds of different Gods and Goddesses. Also in the text it says each of the forty two different administrative districts had their own God. (Hart 24)

Government: The author wrote that kings were the most important men and were practically worshipped. It also says in the text that it was very rare that a women was the ruler of egypt. (Hart 10) image

Art: In the text it says that they grew plants and the nile river helped flooding. They also said that it helped the crops that they used. (Hart 48)

Art: The author wrote that the mesopotamians invented the potters wheel. They also said in the text that they used molding clay and then put it in the oven. (Steele 28) image

Ancient China

Government: The author wrote that "The first 150 years of Manchu prospered" Also on page 62 it states that the emperors Kangxi was very passionate about the arts in chinese culture.Lastly, British ships would come in to exchange tea. (Cotterrel page 62) image

Location: In the text is says that they lived on fields and worked crops. It also states that most emporrers didn't burden their their rural subjects. Lastly, crops were planted on terraces. (Cotterell Page 34) image

Commerce (Trade):On page 58 the text stated that "The Mongols permitted merchants to trade freely" Also, on page 58 it said spices and tea were commonly traded on the silk road. Lastly, social positions during the time temporarily improved. (Cotterell page 58) image

Technology: In the text it says "Paper was made from silk rags"Also in the text it states after that paper was created from other fibers other than cloth. Finally, Large scale printing was finally made possible by the 9th century. (Cottrell page 24) image

Writing: On page 11 it said that the "used oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirits on important matter." Also, answers from important questions were answered from the cracks on the oracle bone. The oracle bones were inscribed on ox bone and tortoise shell. (Cotterell page 11) image

Art: The author wrote that wealthy people often enjoyed elaborate banquets (food).Also, many traditional Chinese foods were steamed or stewed. Lastly, Chinese food is now enjoyed all around the world. (Cotterell page 44) image

Religion: The author wrote on page 54 it said "This is were they find still in the turmoil. Also, it said the ing garden treasured promise. Lastly, it sates that they were near craggy mountains. (Cotterell page 54) image

Indus River Valley/Aryans

Religion:The passage states that most of the information we have comes from the Vedas. Also, the religion of the ancient Aryans, known as the Brahmanism, which was polytheistic and heavily influenced the later development of hinduism.The passage says both Vedas and Bahaminism have very many things in common. image

Location: In the text it says,that over 5,000 years ago they started a region located next to the Indus river. Also the text says "The Indus River Valley covers most of modern day Pakistan" We also discovered that the Indus River was very rich in soil which is ideal for agriculture and also had 4,000 year old city. Government : In the passage it shows that a government pyramid saying what order of importance they are. For example, on the bottom of the pyramid is the Sudra, who are the commoners,peasants,and servants.Finally, A caste is a social group in which people are born and they cannot change . The caste system began because the Aryans had four social classes , which they called vamas (Prentince world studies) image

Architecture: In the text it states that during this time hygiene was very important so they created one of the world's earliest sanitation systems. Another thing stated in the text was that they have really straight walls and goo architecture skills . Lastly, the cities that they built were supposedly very well planned.
