Ancient China
Government:In the book on page 12 it says that "a new moral outlook, it was based on kindness,respect,and the strength of the family". That shows that they were creating new beliefs to make a base religion. Also in the book it
says that the people would worship their ancestors for answers. (cotterell)
Technology: On page 50, it said "Festivals and special events were often illuminated by the light of decorative lanterns."This means they had the technology to be able to make lites. It also says that they were able to carve out gold to make cool items(Cotteral).
writing: On page 11, it said the shang king
used oracle bones to communicate with ancestors. Also, it states that " cracks were then read to discover the answers to a question put to the ancestors." The answers to the questions were written on the ox bone or tortoise bone.(Cotterell)
Commers (trade):The author said "Trade flourished under the Mongal, or yuan, dynasty." This means that trade routes had come through these areas. Also, in these areas merchants were improving on the silk road.
Art: In the book it says that "The Chinese looked on gardens as works of art". This shows that
gardens were a type of art to them. Also the text says that
They made paintings of landscapes in China.

Religion: In the book it says "the dragon was the adopted
symbol of the first emperor". This is governmentbecause it talks about the emperor. Also the book
talks about terracotta soldiers showing what the
soldiers looked like. (cotterell 16)
Ancient Egypt
Location:In the text it said that in ancient egypt"dessert covers more than 90 percent of egypt," and this was called the "Red Land". Also the text states that for thousands of years , the population of Egypt has depended on it's fertile agricultural resources. (Hart 8)
Writing:Through out the text it talks about how the scribes had to be experts at hieroglyphics and they had to be very smart to get the role of a scorbe. It also says through out the text that they write on lots of different things. (Hart 34)
Architecture: On page 20, it said that "The first pyramid was built as the burial place of King Djoser". This shows that they made some architecture for the resting place of the afterlife. The text also says that there has been a law were it is illegal to climb on the sacred pyramids(hart 20).
Religion:On page 24 it said that the ancient egypt civilization religion was polytheism. The text said in egypt " the son god was the dominant deity (Hart 24)
Government: In the text it says " Beyond this way the hall of gold the king where they will be bared. Also in the text it said When he dies he will be surrounded by bars of gold (hart .
Art:On page 56, it said "You can see the glint of gold everywhere in Egyption jewelry" wich this is saying that they have a lot of gold. Also the text says that many of the materials now weren't on there jewelry. (hart 56)
Indus River Valley/Aryans:
Location: Location: About five-thousand years ago people started to settle in South Asia. This was the location of Indus Valley Civilization. A vast number of settlements grow in this region.(Prentice Hall World Studies)
Religion: Religion: In the text it says " The religion of the ancient Aryans, known as Brahmanism, was polytheistic and heavily influenced the later development of Hinduism." Between these two religions there are a lot of religious ritauls which are performed in the Ganages River.
Architecture/Technology: In the text, it said "In many homes, some rooms had facilities in which waste water is directed to cover drains." (Prentice Hall: World studies) This passage also states that they were very caring towards hygiene. The Indus cities also have very advanced architecture which made the houses very stable.
Writing: Writing: On the website page it says the writing of South Asia is still a mystery. It describes in the page that the writing can't be disafied. "Many of the symbols are located on seals, ceramic pots, and other types of materials. (Prentice Hall World Studies)
Government: The Aryan civilization had a large impact. In the text it said, that the Aryan was the group that made the Caste system. The author also wrote "A caste is a social group in which people are born and cannot change."Prentice Hall: World Studies
Mesopotamia
Location:In the text It said that the Greeks called the area of Mesopotamia, which means "between the river". Also in the text it states that "most of ancient Mesopotamia lay within the borders of modern Iraq".(Steele 6)
Writing: The author wrote that they used stylists to make the letters for writing. They also said "by around 3300 BCE they had around 700 letters. (steele 12)
Architecture:On page 24, ziggurats are temples like pyramids. Ziggurats are used for religious purposes. (steele 24)
Religion: An example is they believe in sumerian spirits, ghosts and demons. On page 14 it said " They made Marduk their main god."

Government: in the text it said "They gave them names such as en, ensi, or lugal.". On page ten it said they also thought they where ruled by gods so they made things for them.
Art: In the text the author is talking about the art and how it is well made and what the art is about. In the text it said The art is about the egyptian gods. (steele 28)
