government:On page 18 it says, " The Han Empire Gaozu led one of the peasants armies that overthrew the Qin dynasty." The text also said, that when he did first come to the power he realized that populations was struggling with getting educated administrators. Finally it said, he ended up finding scholars to come for imporal civil services. (Cotterell)
religion: In the text it says, that confucius believed that society in his lifetime is going downhill. Also, Confucius believed that a good ruler should set by example. Finally, he created a new moral outlook that people still follow to this day. (Cotterell pg 12)
art: In the text is says, that China always has been very good and succeeded at arts and crafts.Also, most of the time the merchants sold most of their artwork and they made a lot of money for it. Finally one of the most common art work is specifically bronze. (Cotterell pg 56)
writing: On page 11, it said the " used oracle bones to consult the ancestral spirits on important matter."Also, answers from important questions were answered from the cracks on the oracle bones. The oracle bones were inscribed on ox bone and tortoiseshell. (Cotterell)
technology: In the text it said, that many inventions from China were carried along the silk road to Europe. Also, on page 22 it said, that they discovered a lot of gunpowder which helped a lot for the wars. Finally, they breed a lot of animals and when they did that they changed agricultural forever. (Cotterell)
commerce (trade): On page 58 it says, " The mongol emperors ruled China from 1279 to 1368 and permitted merchants to trade freely throughout their vast empire." Also on page 58 it says that they were the ones who controlled the entire silk road. Finally, merchants got excluded from all of the traditional service jobs. (Cotterell)
location: On page 40 it says, "These enclosed urban communities were centers of government and the power of authorities was reinforced by town playing." Also in the passage it says, that most of the time all of the shops and stores were located along the main streets. Finally, even though they did have some good things they were mostly under control of the government. (Cotterell)

Ancient Egypt
Location: In the text it said that in ancient Egypt '' deserts covers more than 90 percent of Egypt,'' and this was called red land.'' Also the text states that for thousands of years. the population of Egypt has depended on its fertile agricultural resources. (Hart 8)
Writing:On page 32 it says "Scribes were near the top of Egyptian society" It says that because not very many people new how to scribe. Another example is that they used papyrus as there paper. (Hart 32)
Architecture:In the text it says, " The first pyramid was built as the burial place of King Djoser inc. 2650 BCE, by his gifted architecture Imhotep.'' Also in the text it says, ''It rose in six stages and is called the Step pyramid.'' (Hart 20)
Religion: In the text it says, that they worship hundreds of different gods and goddesses. Also in the text it says,"Overall, the Sun God was the domentitan deity in Egyptian Religion,although he could take different forms. (Hart 24)
Government: In the text it says, '' Beyond this was the ''Hall of Gold'', where the king would be buried.'' Also in the text it says, when he dies he would be surrounded by very expensive jewelry and furniture.( Hart 22)
Art: In the text it says, ''Egyptian jewelry had access to many semi precious stones from the desserts- orange-red carnelian, green feldspar, and mauve amethyst.This shows that they have expensive supplies they use for art. Also in the text it says, that they are forced to have their ears pierced. This shows they were them and how big of holes they had to put in their ears. (Hart 56)
