Ancient China
Government: On page 16 it says that the Chinese empire began in 221 B.C. Also on page 16 it says that the first emperor was emperor qin. When he was buried he was surrounded by 1000 soldiers. In conclusion, the chinese emperor started in 221 B.C and the first emperor was emperor Qin. (Cotterell 16)
Religion: On page 12 it says " It was based on kindness and respect and strength of family." Also he said a good ruler should lead by example.Another example is that he believed that a good family relationship makes a strong community. (Cotterell 12)
Art: On page 56 it says that china has always been renowned for its art. They used sophisticated techniques to mass produce them. These piece of art were made of bronze and jade.
Technology; On page 22 it says that some of the greatest inventions in the world came from China. Also on this page it says "Chinese inventions that made the world a different place were paper money, clockwork, silk, porcelain, fireworks, umbrellas, and the wheelbarrow. In conclusion, China has invented some of the coolest things in history. (Cotterell 22)
Writing: On page 11 it said the shang use oracle bones to answer questions. Also, it states that "the cracks were then read to discover the answer to a questions put to the ancestors." As a result, people would write down question and answers on the bones. (Cotterell 11)
Location: On page 66 it says "Settlements grew along the main river." It also says that they used the land by the yellow river to farm and grow crops.In conclusion, they used the river to settle, farm, and grow crop to fees them. (Cotterell 66)
Commerce (trade):On page 58 it says that they used the silk road to trade. Also It says "They carried only luxury goods because transport was expensive and difficult." The text says that they road camels because they were the only ones that could survive the harsh conditions. (Cotterell 58)
Mesopotamia
Location
In the text it said that the greeks called the area mesopotamia which means "between the rivers." Also in the text it states that most of ancient mesopotamia lay within the borders of modern day Iraq." (Steele 6)
Writing
On page 12 it said "The stylus was made by a cut reed." Another example is they used picture as symbols. That's how they made the cuneiforms. (Steele 12)
Architecture
On page 24 it chows architecture and explains its lasting symbol of Ancient Mesopotamia is the Ziggurat. Also on page 24 it says that ziggurats looked like stepped pyramids. (steele 24)
Religion
An example is they believe in sumerian spirits, ghost and demons. On page 14 it said " They made Marduk they main god."

On page 10 it said "Sumerians rulers enjoyed great power..." Another example they had people make sculptures and paintings of them. (steele 10)
Art
An example of art is, they created jewelry with very expensive products. Also in the text it says, they make pottery. (Steele 28)
Ancient Egypt
Location
In the text it says "Deserts covers more than 90 percent or more of Egypt." and this was called the "Red land." Also the text states that for thousands of years, the population of Egypt has depended on its fertile agricultural resources. (Hart 8)
Writing
On page 32 it says "Scribes were near the top of the egyptian society" It says that because not very many people new how to scribe. Another example is that they used papyrus as there paper.
Architecture
On page 20 the text said that " the first pyramids was built as the burial place of king djoser in c.2650 bce by his gifted architect. Also in the text it said rich offerings buried with the kings were robbed of their precious contents. (Hart 20)
Government
In the text it says "When people approached the king they often kissed the ground at his feet." Another example was they were a theocracy. (Hart 14)
Religion
On page 24 it said "The egyptians worshiped hundreds of gods and goddesses." Another example is they had many gods that represented animals. (Hart 24)
Art
On page 56 it says "Gold can be beaten into shape". Another example is that they like to make necklaces. (Hart 56)
