SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION
Green strategic thinking
The
biggest problem now is overpopulation
Is very difficult to balance between what we
consume and generate and generate what we consume is quite expensive
is an expense that many companies do not want to take and only recover a small part of what is spent
Garrett Hardin talks about certain points that cause high levels of pollution
There are no measures or any law that prohibits families to have more than a certain number of children
He also comments that these numerous families not only depend on the resources that they can generate
They are part of a large consumption that depends on global
resources
TNS methodology
Consists of different rules that cover the sustainability of the natural
resources of the entire planet
-
All dealings with nature must be done with respect because a modification we make and any resources we use have a consequence
-
7 R's of sustainability
Planned obsolescence
Learning to produce, but also to consume
Programmed obsolescence is the useful life that a factory or company gives to a product, when its useful life ends, the product will become useless, as the word says, obsolete.
-
-
-
Program obsolescence affects the consumer economically and psychologically.
The idea came from the Phoebus Cartel, with major manufacturers such as Philips and General Electric. They agreed to reduce the lifetime of their bulbs to increase sales.
7R´s of sustainability are here to prevent this generation and the next ones of so much waste with planned obsolescence.
-
Eco-effectiveness
This method seeks to reuse all materials, thus totally reducing raw material costs, and helping other industries to use recycled materials in their products and thus generating a greater impact in terms of the reduction of raw materials used.
-
Eco-efficiency
It is a method designed to reduce costs and seeks to make processes more efficient so that they are more economical, not only by reducing the materials used but also by reducing the environmental impact of the processes.
-
Stimulating the use of renewable energy only, means we can use it endlessly
-
Any kind of resource and material, and its main goal is that everything is made to be reused or serve a new purpose.
