Mesopotamia
Architecture; On page 24, it said '' Ziggurats are similar to the stepped pyramids of ancient egypt.'' ''źiggurates formed parts of scared precincts.'' (steele)
Religion: On page 14, it said that the Sumerians worshiped many gods and goddesses. It also said that '' They believed in spirits, ghosts, and demons.'' (steele)
Government: On page 10, it said that '' Sumerian rulers enjoyed great power and fame and their exploits and deeds were remembered for centuries.'' It also said that '' Sumerian kings claimed to rule by the will of gods therefore had to certain religious duties.'' (Steele)
Art: On page 28, it said '' They were molding clay into simple pots by the 18th century.'' It also said that '' Copper ore was being smelted and the molten copper poured into molds as early as the fourth millennium.'' (steele)
Writing: On page 12, it said that ''The sumerians devised the worlds first script or writing system.'' It also said that '' By around 3300 BCE they were using about 700 symbols or pictographs.'' (steele)
Location: On page 6, it said that ''around 3500 BCE, the first cities, states, and empires arose.'' Mesopotamia includes different regions like mountains and reed-filled wetlands. (Steele)
Ancient Egypt
Location: On page 8, it said that the Egyptians lived on the ''Black land named after the rich dark silt in which the farmers grew crops.'' Also the text stated that the
desert covers over 90% of Egypt, and this was called
the ''Red Land.''

Writing: On page 34, it said that they wrote in hieroglyphs with a picture writing with about 700 different pictures. It also said '' for business contracts,letters and stories scribes use a different form of writing hieratic.'' (Hart)
Architecture: On page 20, it said the idea of the pyramid was to recreate the hill that came out if the wet ground at the start of time. Also it said ''The pyramids were intended to protect the bodies of pharaohs buried deep inside them.'' (Hart)
Religion: On page 24, it said 42 different administrative nomes have their own god there were a lot of other gods and goddesses. Also '' Many of the gods and goddesses were represented by animals: a baboon might stand for Thoth, god of wisdom,at one temple, a moon god named Khonsu at another.''

Government: On page 10, it said that they need to train the princes before they can rule so they know the rules that they have to follow to be the king. It also said that '' The queen of Egypt could also be seen as a goddess but was usually given the title of ''Great Royal Wife''.'' (Hart)
Art:on page 57, it said that gold is everywhere in between the Nile and the Red Sea. It also said ''From mines in the Sinai peninsula came light blue turquoise and rich blue lapis lazuli to egypt.''

Government On page 16, ' 'it says to show his supremacy over the other kings he had vanquished." Also the people thought the emperor would be immortal but he didn't survive.In the text it said,"he used his subjects as slave labourers to build the Great Wall of China." (cotterell)

Commerce On page 58 it said ''International trade thrived because caravans could travel without danger.'' Also chinese merchants amassed large fortunes by exporting goods. It also says '' At home in China the mongols removed the restrains usually placed upon merchants.''

Indus River Valley/Aryans
Religion: In the text it says, The Vedas are the most religious texts. the most known religion in ancient Aryans was Brahmanism. Then later developed into Hinduism. Prentice Hall: World Studies
Government: In the text it said, the aryans came from the area of Central Asia that is near the Caucasus Mountains. They took over the indus valley by 1500 BC. They spoke Sanskrit and became the basis of any modern south asian language. -Prentice Hall: World Studies
Architecture/technology: On the website it said, the people of the Indus society built well created cities and buildings. In the remnants of the buildings and homes they show the world's earliest sanitation. The walls of the buildings were built to protect floods and outside people. Prentice hall: World Studies
Writing: In the text it said that the writing cannot be deciphered. Scholars have wondered what it means and others also don't know what the symbols mean. Without knowing what it means we don't know what it was like in the Indus society and the government.
