Mesopotamia
Location: In the text it said that "the ancient Greeks called it Mesopotamia, meaning between the rivers." Mesopotamia is now the location of modern day Iran. (Steele 6)
Writing: In the text it said "early people who lived as hunters and nomads did not need written records of ownership, business deals, and government." They would use clay and craft symbols into it to memorize there written language. (Steele 12)
Architecture: In the text it said that "a lasting symbol of ancient Mesopotamia is the zarrut , a massive terraced made of brick."It represented a mountain, streating from earth to the heavens (Steele 24)
Religion: In the text it said " They believed that the stars traveling across the night sky were cows of Sin or Nanna, The horned Moon god." They would make a clay disk of their worshipers names and what they look like. (Steele 14)
Government: In the text it said "City-state rulers of the civilization lords." The kings would make up their own names when they became king. (Steele 10)

Ancient Egypt
Location: On page 8 it said that since the desert covered 90% of Egypt, people lived on the banks of the Nile River. Also, in the text it said that "when the Nile water subsided, farmers went to work sowing barley and emmer wheat.

Writing: On page 34 it said scribes had to be experts in writing and there were over 700 different signs. In the text it said that "The writing could be used for business contracts letters and stories. (Hart)
Architecture: In the text it said that the first pyramid was build as a burial site. On page 20 it said that "the pyramids were intended to protect the bodies of the pharaoh's buried deep inside them. (Hart)
Religion: On page 24 it said that they worshiped hundreds of gods and it could even be difficult to figure out who one was. Also, in the text it said that "each of the 42 different animals administrative were many others beside. (Hart)
Government: On page 10 it said that the king was the most powerful and important man in Egypt. In the text it said that " The queen of egypt could also be considered a goddess." (Hart)
Art: In this article on page 50 it talked about how the Egyptians lived to there fullest. They had public festivals with thousands of people. (Hart)

Government: On page 6 it said that The first emperor united china under the Qin dynasty. Also it said that "He built the great wall to protect his empire from the northern nomads, and standardized cheesies scripts coins weights to measure." Qin dynasty only lasted 15 years.

Writing: On page 11 it said the Shangs Kings used oracle bones to communicate with ancestors about questions. Also it states that "cracks were then read to discover the answer to a question put to the ancestors" The answers to the questions were written on the turtle shell (Cotterell)
Commerce: Commerce- On page 58 it says 1279 to 1368 series of trade routes that ran throughout the empire. The silk road also traded religion such as buddhism. People normally travel on camels.(Cotterell)
Art: On page 56 it said that China, luxury goods formed the major export commodities -Chinese bronze, jade, silk, lacquer, and porcelain were prized in Asia and Europe. Also it said that "Chinese rulers controlled the supply of raw materials and ran governments factories manned by skilled artisans who applied their crafts to diffrent stages of the manufacturing processes". location:The text talk about two great rivers. They are the Yellow river and the Yangtze river. Both of these rivers were used to transport things down stream. (Cotterell 38)
Religion:
The policy of religious tolerance was carried out to make religious diversity a link of political unity. For example, in the Qing Dynasty, through the link of Tibetan Buddhism, the Torgut Mongolian tribe broke through the obstacles set by the Tsarist Russia and resolutely returned to the motherland.(Cotterell)
Indus river
Location:In the text it said "Around 5,000 years ago, a civilization developed along the Indus River alluvial plain." I know because early on a vast number of people were built along the banks of the indus river. The author said that the dirt under caves and mines revealed several ancient cities that they lived in.
Writing:The author said that over 400 symbols have been found. In the text it said people are wondering if it was actually a function writing system.
Architecture/Tech: In the text it said the people in the city had well planned cities. The author said that many houses and facilities had a bunch of waste water. The graphics showed that the city's walls were most likely used to protect them from floods.
Religion:The author said they believed in reincarnation.
Government: The author said that the brahma was the biggest most powerful person there.
