Location
Location: In the text it said this area was home to sumerians, Assyrians, and Babylonians, and they created writing and many other inventions.
Also, according to the text " most of the Mesopotamia lay within the borders of modern Iraq."( Steele 6

Writting
Writing: The author wrote that they used symbols and pictures as writing. In the text, it says that the urk was using 700 different symbols. (Steele 12)
Architecture: It says that ziggurats are massive terreaced platform made or bricks and straw. In the text, it says that is represents stretching to the heaven and earth. Also it looks simular to stepped pyramids (steele 24)
Religion
Religion: In the text, it told us that there are many gods and goddesses, some were shared along religions, and some were added through out the time of the Mesopotamians. (Steele 14)
Art : They would mine the ores that they want then melt them down and shape them to how they want their sculpture to look. Copper ore was being smelted and the molten copper poured into molds as early as the four millennium. (steele 28)

Government: The kings, queens, lords, and governors would all have their names sketched into clay tablets called a "kings list" and enjoyed their great power and framed their great deeds. ( Steele 10)
Ancient Egypt
Location: On page 8, it said "The Egyptians lived on a strip of land on either side of the Nile." Also, in the text, it says 'Red Land' which was the desert,covers 90 percent of Egypt (Hart 8)
Writing: On page 34, it says "Scribes had to be experts in writing hieroglyphs, an elaborate form of picture writing with about 700 different signs." It also said that the Egyptians had another writing called hieratic, which was used for religious documents and scrolls. (Hart 34)
Architecture: in the text, it said "The first pyramid was built as the burial place of King Djoser in c. 2650 BCE." It also said that the pyramids were built as steps for the King to get to the top and talk to the sun god, Ra.

Government: In the text, it said " The pharaoh was supposed to perform the duties of the high priest in every temple in Egypt, but his place was usually taken by the chief priest." It also said that the priests had more power and communicated with the gods of Egypt. (Hart 28)
Art: In the text, it said " Mines between the Nile and the Red Sea coast yielded large quantities of this precious metal. The gold could be beaten into shape or cast in molds." It also said that the gold was everywhere in Egypt.

Religion: In the text, it said "The Egyptians worshipped hundreds of gods and goddesses, and sometimes it was hard to tell who was who." It also said that many of the gods and goddesses were represented by animals such as cats, jackals, and rams. (Hart 24)
Ancient China
Government: It said that the Shang kings ruled the Chinese empires for a while, about 1650-1027 B.C. It also tells me that the kings/emperors were decided with the fate of a mandate of heaven, creating dynasties. (Cottwell 16)
Technology: In the text it says " Through its imperial history, emperors engorged the development of science and technology, and for centuries China led other nations in these areas.'' It also talks about how a lot of these inventions that they made were cared for on the silk road. It also says "Other Chinese inventions that made the world a different place were paper,money,clockwork,silk,porcelain,fireworks,kits,umbrellas, and the wheelbarrow ( Cottrell 22)
Writing: In the text, it said an ox bone or shell from a tortoise was burned until it cracked. Also, the text says that "The cracks were then read to discover the answer to a question put to the ancestors." The oracle bones were mainly used by the Shang kings. (Cottrell 11)
Commerce (trade): In the text it says: "Trade Flourished under the Mongol, or Yuan dynasty." This talks about when did trade start to get popular. In the text it also says '' They controlled the entire length of the silk road, a series of trade routes that run from northern China across Asia.'' (Cottrell 26)
Location: In the text it says " In most Chinese homes, three generations of the same family lived under one roof.'' This is about their home. In the text it also says '' A traditional home was divided into different sections by courtyards.'' (Cottrell 42) .
Religion: In the text it said "In Imperial China, religious beliefs were divided in the "three ways" of Confucianism, Diaism, and Buddhism." This tells me that China had many supported religions. It also said that some people who were persecuted for their beliefs, meaning that some religions are not very supported and welcomed. (Cottwell 26)
