AtekPC had initially adopted an informal approach to project management with speedy response times however as projects became more complex the informal approach was no longer possible and call for implementation of a PMO was needed.
PMO were divided into two categories, project-focused and enterprise oriented.

What is the cause?
AtekPC has had an informal approach to project management for a long time and the PMO may require some changes in the way projects are managed in the company. Some employees do not understand the function of the PMO and claim its bureaucratic.

The CIO, Director Application Development and other employees

In an effort to cope with the increasing competition in the PC industry and to minimize production costs AtekPC management introduced a PMO to provide standardization in managing large and complex scale projects.

The PMO is mostly focused on IT projects and is facing challenges as it tries to move to other departments (Enterprise).
