    - - Pressure to improve, be aggressive and move quickly to reduce costs and tap new markets to reduce take over
    - - PC makers are looking at new markets for growth oppurtunities
    - - Consumers and companies for wanting to reduce costs, PC makers not being aware of how costly their products are, popularity in mobile phones
  - - - AtekPC has had an informal approach to project management for a long time and the PMO may require some changes in the way projects are managed in the company. Some employees do not understand the function of the PMO and claim its bureaucratic.
    - - The CIO, Director Application Development and other employees
    - - A majority of employees especially outside the IT department are not open or welcoming to the new idea of having a PMO.
    - - Employees were divided about the PMO initiative, and some called it "an administrative thing". With the PMO heavy which looks ideal, the company faces the cost of hiring more employees.
    - - In an effort to cope with the increasing competition in the PC industry and to minimize production costs AtekPC management introduced a PMO to provide standardization in managing large and complex scale projects.
    - - The IT group had an increased workload, as projects were pushed to them.
    - - The PMO is mostly focused on IT projects and is facing challenges as it tries to move to other departments (Enterprise).
  - - - Key peole at AtekPC have different ideas on the approach that should be taken. Gardner had the expectation that the PMO model would be more heavy than light. Strider believes it should be light.
    - - There are two approaches under consideration for the PMO. PMO- Heavy or PMO-Light. AtekPC has to decide on which approach to take.
    - - The prior informal business approach caused little or no consistency across IT groups of business areas. A new process needed to be implemented.
    - - Failing to become more savvy in terms of use of IT will risk becoming unprofitable.
    - - It will create a better way to manage conflicts between new business, critical initatives and operations with incremental changes to existing systems.
    - - Because the PMO employees don't have PC experience they will depend on the business and will cause a lot of extra work that they can't take on.
    - - CIO, Director Application Dev., Director Technology & Ops., PMO Director, IT and Business employees
