Illuminate
Aesthetics
Simplistic design - I wish the product be simple and straightforward, to not confuse the customer (Not take away from the functionality).
Using Simple Geometry - Being a fan of Aldo Rossi's designs, I wish to make my design use many shapes such as squares, triangles or hexagons to make the light look both clean and complex.
-
Customer
The customer (me) wants for a basic, highly functional light, made from materials that have matching patterns and textures and that can produce patterns on walls.
-
Function
Illuminate an area
Portable, rechargeable light box that disperses light to illuminate a room when alternative light sources are unavailable (e.g. light bulb is broken)
-
-
Patterns
Similar to a Kaleidoscope, this is a light that changes patterns as the filter above is twisted (possibly may be automated using electric motors), can be used as a night light

Cost
The lamp that I will be making will be of higher quality then your average lamp, thanks to the pleasing aesthetic and high-grade materials however, this will make it more expensive to purchase, I believe between £20-£25.
Safety
-
-
Lamp itself needs to be insulated to prevent any burns from light bulb after getting to hot (excessive usage.)
Circuit needs to be separated from wood, to prevent wood from burning if any wires get too hot.
Environment
It will be used indoors, most efficiently in dark areas to see the light the best.
-
My product with have a generally low environmental impact because it will be made from metal and wood rather than plastic
Material
-
-
-
-
I want my design to be made of mostly dull metal (hopefully Aluminium) ,with some elements of wood (with wax to give shine and make it waterproof).
If such materials are unavailable, I wish for my lamp to be made of plastic (such as polypropylene or acrylic.)
