Rosie Betzler - Liked character, Captain K -Liked Character, Imaginary…
Rosie Betzler - Liked character
Rosie helped us to understand the resistance to the Nazi's more.
How the Nazis felt about them
What they did
How they were punished
How they advertised their views
How they felt about the war and their country
Why is Rosie liked?
because of her soft caring/ nurturing nature she reflects throughout the film.
She put other people's needs before her own
Rosie is a good example of what someone in the resistance looked like, she shows how not all Germans agreed with Nazi ideology.
Does not believe that Jewish people are inferior in any way
She is somewhat of a pacifist and understands that war is pointless
She fought for what she believed in
She cares about Jojo
She's anti Nazi
Captain K -Liked Character
Captain K, Is a Captain in the army and after getting injured is now teaching in Hitler youth
Captain K, shows that viewer that not all nazis wanted to follow hitler, and that even though they were soldiers that they were people to that had morals and values. When captain K protects Jojo we are shown that soldiers could have ended up in their position because of his circumstances
captain K had a caring side to himself that was shown when he was around children (jojo)
Captain K helped Jojo, rosie and elsa by protecting Elsa even though she is a Jew.
Captain K pretend that Jojo is a Jew so Jojo could escape.
Imaginary Adolf Hitler
Shows us that the childlike admiration of idols is often false and blind
Helped us to understand the Nazi Beliefs
showed us how the act of prejudice is childish
We don't like Adolf Hitler
This is because of our perspective of Hitler - an evil man leading a nation in 1940
But Taika Waititi forces the Nazi child's perspective of Hitler on us and we are forced to evaluate Jojo and the Nazi's way of thinking
We aren't meant to agree with the views but merely go on the journey with JoJo with his understanding of the world
