(20:51) In this scene, Edith has fainted out of anxiety after being told that her $10,000 has been lost. Arakau proceeds to carry her unconscious body away to a secluded area where he is seen throwing himself upon her and kissing her while she is physically unable to consent. In addition, to Arakau already involving Edith in an agreement she does not want to be in, such a scene like this paints his character in a rather immoral light, allowing the audience to justifyingly villainize him. Furthermore, in a later scene (31:58), Arakau again forces himself upon Edith, even more forcingly this time, and brands her with his iron symbol. Therefore, despite the fact that Arakau's character challenges the asexual Asian male stereotype, he ultimately is represented in a negative way by illustrating him as the film's villain.
