Eukaryotic vs. Prokaryotic - Coggle Diagram
Eukaryotic vs. Prokaryotic
Single-celled organisms
Bacteria and Archaea
Pro= " before"
Unicellular
No membrane bound organelle
No Nucleus
DNA located in the Nucleoid
Eukaryotes
Animal cells, plants, fungi and prostis
Eu= "true"
Flagellum (looks like the tail)
Chromosome (DNA), Nucleoid region, Ribosome, Cell membrane, Cell wall, Capsule, Pili, Flagellum.
Prokaryotic are smaller than Eukaryotic
It is more energetically favorable for a cell to be small. A larger surface area to volume ratio is ideal.
The Cell Needs the lipid bilayer, the surface area, to transport energy in and waste out.
As the size of the cell increaseos the ratio of the surface area to volume decreases.
High surface area to volume is maximized when you see the outer membrane of the cell to have folds.
A cell will divide to become more energy efficient
Eukaryotic Cells Have: 1) a membrane-bound nucleus; 2)numerous membrane-bound organelles; Several, rod- shaped chromosomes.
