A proud 3 foot 8 in a check flannel shirt, pencil behind the ear and scruffy cotton trousers
-
-
-
-
-
A fine oak tree to the north that needs felling and dragging back to town. Sacred to a tribe of barbarians?
Edward Longspear
Mid 30s, human, short brown hair and clean shaven, leather armour, short sword, talkative initially but more stressed as time goes on
-
-
Positive, upbeat and friendly with the group for any assistance
High stake, his family lives in Longsaddle and it's his duty to protect the people of the town
-
Harriet Fitzgrovia
70s female, white hair, simple knitted clothing, homemade, old house full of knick knacks and dusty relics, bit of money but asset rich, cash poor
-

-
High stake, her husband is missing!
Building: A beautiful, but in-need-of-repair townhouse on the main throughfare in town. All white cladding with a neat if little unkept garden outside. A rusted knocker sits slightly off-centre on the door with the face of a lion.
Dowell Harpell
The once admired defacto leader of the town, hasn't been seen for 2 months which isn't THAT odd but not that normal either! Not yet newsworthy. Believes in the Elder Elemental Eye. Lots of clues in the Ivy Mansion if they can get in... Claw marks, scribbling about Goblins, ooze and an Allip in the library? Machine of planar travel, evidence of portal magics and strange exotic beasts.
Wizard, spell creator and now inventor
Summon an Astral Dreadnought to wreak havoc in Faerun, summon the Chained God for a similar end goal, summon monsters, beasts etc while learning the magics to do it. EVENT: in the unlikely event the group make it into the Ivy Mansion to meet Dowell he will ask them to swear allegiance to his friend before going any further with their communcations. Once sworn he would trust them with the full plan - group should realise he's evil at this point.
Relentless focus on his new goal, cares only for his work, will barely engage with the characters and mutter to himself
The highest stake, if word gets out his life will be over. He is convinced that summoning the Chained God is the only future for Faerun. Freedom Through Chaos. Rebirth Through Rubble. Life Through Death.
-
Jemima Silkfeather
mid 50's with grey hair dyed purple, wearing a flaty dress and smells of lavender
-
to keep her town safe and the people happy EVENT: A travelling diplomat from Calimshan is coming a few days, escort them and make sure they DON't hear about any of this goblin funny business.
A bit flakey and eager for all this to be over, perhaps naive?
-
Buildings: Home: Small cottage with a wonderful garden, the noise of insects and smell of lavender
Her office: Ceremonial room in the town hall, a few certificates and keepsakes, photos of her and a family?

Hard as nails Archmage who runs the Night Cloak, blonde and brunette hair with a deep grey cloak and tight fitting clothing on.
-
Make sure the tavern stays busy, keep other shady characters in check. EVENT: Worried about Odin's previous apprentice, a keen customer of hers missing for some time.
Bored, tired and not one for small talk
Low stakes, doesn't mind the town's reputation changing as long as those with coin still visit for whatever reason
-
Xavier Steelstrike
Dark blue plate armour, longsword to one side. Gold detailing with a symbol around his neck. A shield sits on his back over a cape with an embroidered symbol. A blank scroll. walks with a limp.
-
Help the cult summon the Chained God, see Dowell's work happen EVENT: Needs some ointment for his leg from the town over, the temple of Ilmater there has a supply.
Wants the adventurers to leave quickly, apathetic to their cause and complaints? Hints of sadness!
High stakes, he has a Rakshasa in his crypt, betraying everyone in town, living a lie and MIGHT have betrayed his god.. hard to know!
Session 1 into 2: Also informed of the group arriving by Vellynne, will meet the group at breakfast and offer them healing and find out what they've been up to
Sir Martin Fitzgrovia

Retired adventurer, ranger?
Destroy the evil horde of goblins that have moved in and find out why Dowell Harpell didn't do it in the first place! EVENT: Let us destroy this goblin scum together, all for one and one for all!
Think old english gentlemen, stiff upper lip and all that, positive but aware of the injury he has sustained fending off the goblins that came to grab him
A prisoner of the goblins and the oblex, his life is at stake!
-
Malavos Drunn
Gruff barkeep of the Horn & Hoof Inn, old man with a belly on him in a black shirt. As you get closer you smell the stale ale on his breath and see the stains that cover his shirt.
-

EVENT: Asks the adventurers to find the weapon for him! Keep an eye out for it and anything else you err, liberate.
Happy to chat, recognises individuals as adventurers and says he's happy to buy anything they come across
Medium stakes, has plenty of run-ins with the town guard but nothing sticks and he's on first name terms with all of them now.
Building: Horn & Hoof, dark mahogany interior with red curtains that block most of the view. A simple horn and hoof painting hangs on rusted iron outside the door.

Short and sharp conversations. Recognises the characters as adventurers and points out he's got a buyer of exotic meats, bones and bodyparts if they come across anything interesting!
His reputation in town is already pretty bad after the goblin meat issues so low stake, he can take his trade to most places and start anew.
Davidoff Hansbleeter, blacksmith, Arnie vibes
Big hands, big human, young, sweaty in a bright red vest with gold lettering on it. The glow of the embers around him make him appear like a devil from below with the dashing good looks to match

Summon the Chained God. Assist her brother with the portalling of beasts and monsters of the undead kind. Fascinated with shadow beings.
Cynical, quiet, outcast, focused
high stakes, family at risk
Act 1 - An Oblex has been sending goblins out to gather smarter and smarter minds from the town of Longsaddle. Sir Martin Fitzgrovia is missing and Edward Longspear of the town guard has put out the call for help.
Sir Martin's wife, Harriet allows the group to search his library where they find a scribbled note about a goblin hideout to the east, a scrab of paper in the fireplace with "Ooze?" written on it or a note about speaking to Odin.
The goblins have been tipped off about the adventurers arriving and been told to capture them for the ooze, goblins attack any group of two or more adventurers arriving in Longsaddle together. One isn't worth their time and 4 would be too scary, 2 or 3 is just right. They can find a note written in a language they don't understand.
Edward Longspear tells them that 1 week ago Sir Martin Fitzgrovia went missing while on a night watch and hasn't been seen since. 25 gold pieces for any information which leads to him being found. Any clues? You can ask his wife, around the town, the guard have no leads.
Go and speak to Odin? Years since the whole goblin meat debacle, he has changed his ways, promise! NOW IF, I was going to find some goblin meat it'd be to the east of town, they used to have a cave or two.
Other members of the Town Watch? Jemima Silkfeather can show the group Martin's favourite watch spot on the main road into town where they can find a scrap of cloth, bootmarks in the ground and a pair of glasses (some sort of slime or blood?) which turn out to be Martin's!
