readings, bottom line- we are the way we are now bc men think they are…
readings
seems like most of these readings claim that culture, race, religion has a part to play in how "nature" has been created
i think its a possible claim, can pull in the evolution of design in different cultures

did not understand 07-02
rather, refused to read because the way the writer presented themselves seems very .....
07-03 anthropogenic: when human activites affect nature; 45% of americans agree that there is a lot of controversy around anthropogenic climate change
discussion on whether science can back up that controversy; or is this controversy caused by ignorance or do these people simply feel threatened by this scientific consensus?
rather strange to feel threatened by science, why are people reluctant to see what we are doing to this planet?
very scientific read; i am with the author, i have no doubts that climate change is accelerated by human activites

perhaps a large portion of humans didn't want to take advantage of nature, but they are brought up in a society that will continue to do so regardless of what they think
eventually, as long as we are part of this fast-paced society, we have no choice but to make use of nature.
plastic straw discourse
even if you do care for the environment and play your part to not use plastic straws, companies will continue producing them anyways. even if everyone stopped producing plastic straws, other plastic materials that have been comfortably integrated into our system cannot be replaced
our fast-paced society requires for things to be quick, efficient, convenient
mass production
humans continue taking advantage of nature, whether an individual chooses to or not

why don't animals have this problem?? there are clear hierarchies and leadership in certain species of animals as well
-
main takeaway of the topic and readings given is how different religions seem to treat "nature" differently

sustainable architecture to justify our careless production of materials which continue harming the environment
-
-
led to things being mass-produced, "nature" was treated as something to aide in our livelihood

brought up in one of the readings- that animals have adaptive behaviour, while humans behaviours are built from beliefs instead of directly responding to what is happening in front of them
