Interval Notation
A way to represent the domain/range or solutions that are written as inequalities or number line solutions
How to use
Open intervals: For open intervals, there are (x,y) brackets, and an open circle, along with < and >. For example: a<x<b These are used to represent the coordinates of x and y are not within the domain and range.
Closed intervals: We use [x,y] brackets for closed intervals, a filled in circle, as well as ≤ and ≥. For example, a≤ x≤ b. These are used to represent that the coordinates of x and y are within the domain and range.
