        Assess the patient's body weight in relation to age and height
        
        Give nutritionally balanced diet, rich in carbohydrates, fats, proteins and vitamins
        
        Monitor daily intake of food
        
        Give snacking meals between meals
        
        Encourage fluid intake
        
        Weigh patient twice a week to monitor weight.
