Nursing management
Position patient with head of the bed elevated, in a semi-Fowler’s position (head of the bed at 45 degrees when supine) as tolerated.

Definition
Bluish discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes resulting from a lack of oxygen in the tissues is near the surface of the skin
Pathophysiology
Appearance of cyanosis depends on the absolute amount of deoxygenated hemoglobin(Hb) present in the blood rather than the ratio of reduced hemoglobin (Hb) to oxygenated hemoglobin
