The Top Gun training
-
The US was doing terrible, they lost 10 jets after shooting down 9 of Vietnam's.
Because of that they created the Top Gun school. They chose their best pilots to be the trainers and new recruits to be the students.

This was deliberate practise and it was a huge success. from 1970-1933, The US shot down 12.5 Vietnam jets for every jet they lost.
