Social outcomes:
-
Education outcomes:
When beliefs about the value of women change, they are more likely to receive an education
-
Education can give girls better knowledge of family planning, contraception and fertility; with empowerment they can prevent unwanted teen pregnancies and complete education

-
Demographic outcomes:
With family planning, the number of children per woman can decline; over time, the number of young dependents, comparative to the economically active, can decline.
Economic outcomes:
Higher school completion rates in the female population (50% of the total population) leads to a large, skilled workforce
A demographic dividend: If fertility rates decline (currently at 2.0 babies per woman of childbearing age), a large economically active population, if educated and empowered, can be a large workforce to attract Foreign Direct Investment and increase GDP
- Target 8.1: Achieve higher levels of economic productivity through labour intensive sectors
- Target 8.5 Full and productive employment for all women
