Atropine--use for Disorders of the Eyes; Bradycardia; tremors
--Adverse effect: Xerostomia (Dry Mouth);Blurred Vision and Photophobia; Urinary Retention-->notify PCP; Constipation; Tachycardia.; Asthma
--Contraindication: bowel obstruction, Glaucoma, BPH or urinary retention
--Patient teaching: the med can reduce the ability to sweat so do not overheat; change position slowly
also called: parasympatholytic; antimuscarinic; muscarinic blockers; anticholinergic
--BEERS CRITERIA: designated as potentially
inappropriate for use in geriatric patients.
Drugs for Overactive Bladder---Oxybutynin
--common side effect: dry mouth; constipation; blurred vision; dry eyes--->Avoid Glaucoma
--Adverse effect: urinary retention--->notify PCP
--Patient teaching: change position slowly; Avoid hyperthermia(too much sun exposed)
