Seasones- the weather affects some birds that prefer warmer temparatures unlike bids that can withstand cold weathers like penguins
Activity 1 3D model of birds, learners will be asked to bring newspapers or any reusable papers and collect leaves all this will be used to create birds and they will be hanged on the classroom celing from north to south this will imitate the birds migration
Birds communication
Dancing birds- the are some birds are famusly known as the dancing bieds this is another way of them comunicating they communicate thought body movements birds like the male manakin birdand albatross
Activity - learners will be watching an educational documentary about birds and the sounds they make how to they communucate
songbirds- birds use songs for a variety ofpurposes, depending on the birds needs, this can be use for claiming and defending terrotory or to communicate with other birds

Feathers
Fly- birds use their feathers to fly but not all birds are airborn big birds like Ostrich don't fly pinguens are great swimmers but can't fly but we do have birds that can do both swim and fly like geese, puffins, pelican and the silly bird.
Activity- comparing birds feathers, learners will be given cut out pictures of birds feathers with different sizes they will be instructed to sort them by size and shape they will also be asked if the feather belongs to a big bird or a small bird and why is that looking at the feathers.
feathers- the bird uses it's feathers as a blanket to it warm during cold temparatures and flying the feathers are also used for cooling the bird down during hot days/nights and the birds feathers are waterproof
Bird food
Activity - Draw a bird eating seeds. this activity leaners will be given an A4 page with different types of cut out picture seeds/worms that the teacher will prepare a day before the activity leaners will also be given real seeds to place outside the classroom to attract birds this will give them a chance to see birds eating upclose
Birds home- different birds live in different places and climates. we have birds that live inland, sea, freshwater
Bird Food- small birds naturally eat worms, grubs nut, seeds and big birds normally eat fish, small rats and rabbits
Pets
Birs- birds are a warm-blooded egg-laying anmimals with feathers, wings, legs, head and a beak.
types of birds- the are many types of birds this seabirds, landbirds. the are small birds that we can keep as pets like parrots, chickens, toucans, indian peafowl and ducks
Activity- learners will be aske which birds can we have as pets and are birds a great pet to have in class we will be having a class pet bird all learners will be grouped and take turns feeding the bird and making sure it has food, water and the cage is clean the teacher will be supervice the learners

birds flying- birds have feathers, beaked jaws, head, two legs, wings and two eyes
Activity 3D bird model-using recycled metarials the learners will be guided by the teacher on how to make a 3D bied model wiith all the bidy parts at the right places and they will name them
Stuctures
what are nests made up of- different birds use different materials to make nests loooking at penguins use small stones while moss, grass, seaweed, stalks are used by eagles
Activity Building a birds nest- leaners will be asked to collect different materials from home and the school garden to create a birds nest
birds nest- nests are made by birds and these nests are usually used for laying eggs and provides shelther for some birds
birds flying
how birds fly- birds fly by flapping their wings this involves them moving upwards against the force of gravity and forward too.
Activity identify and improve- leaners will be given different pictures of birds and they will be asked to identify which birds can fly and those that can't fly and if they could make a flightless bird which on would it be and how would they make it fly
why cant all birds fly-scientis belive that some birds have lost their power of fight over time due to weight and sometimes due to not have natural preditors this also includes the climates they live in.
