Definition
It is a quick setting of a fine white powder and crepe bandages which is wet for 24 to 48 hours to hardens or dries out

Can disturb with circulation of blood and nerve and reduced movements and sensation if applied too tight which can cause inflammation
A neurovascular assessment is very crucial in order to asses for any abnormalities and complications during cast
Health education (Don't)
Do not get the cast wet, during rainy days and when showering, use water proof to prevent the cast from getting wet
Do not remove any cast padding by yourself,

Avoid pulling out the cast and scratching using foreign object as that will introduce infection and skin cracking
Do not user any heater or fans to dry the cast, let it dry on it own as that may cause cram le if the cast causing burns
Health education (Dos)

Perform passive and active exercises to check if the extremeties are still movable for joints and muscle to prevent paralysis

For a cast in upper limbs, elevate extremeties above level of the heart for a good venous return

Report if there is swelling and change in skin color of the exposed extremeties and if unable to move extremeties
